I have listen more hours to Bluebuck.
Different type of music.
Sound is clear like a spring flood.
I am in love... So beautiful.
Voices is so live. Sometimes you find what you search.

Perhaps not a great analogy. Here they are pretty brown.

If I could measure the distortion on the CHP-90, I would suspect it to be very low.
Do you know anyone who has measured the distortion here?

Fantastic news, I'm glad the CHP-90 really shines in the Bluebok!
I have been particularly impressed by the analysis by Joseph Crowe, his blog has a great mix of technical measurements and commentary (includes measurements harmonic and intermodulation distortion). I would love to see what would have to say about the CHP-90:

My fondness for the CHP-90 cannot be overlooked.
Have now played quite a lot of music with Bluebuck speakers. I have yet to be disappointed by these. Fast pieces of music as well as calm ones handle these with flying colours. Micro details have been overlooked and this behavior makes you want to listen to all types of music over and over again. All music sounds different, more rewarding.
The CHP-90 has given me a new dimension in music.
More resolution that hasn't existed before. Listening has become more enjoyable.

Hello Scott,
I am interested in Makalu with duct on front panel position.
Duct length is 18mm so should I make much larger hole on internal front panel or just make it with single front panel?

If you decide to build with the vent on the front, then I would simply keep the doubled front panel & use the vent diameter as-designed -the difference is marginal at best & will be completely swamped by room modes, variations in amplifier output impedance, driver QC tolerance etc. We're talking less than 1/2dB and about 1Hz, so nothing to get concerned about.
Not yet. Working on 3 CGR for the CHN-110. CHP-90/120 are in the queue.

I bought chp90mica and waiting cut plywood(not best quality one but not poor) for Makalu.
I listened few hours with different enclosure,
This is amazing driver, detailed,no hash, have decent bass.
In my little experience,I prefer lower force enclosure so I choose Makalu.
I would like to have frugel horn but now,I don't want to throw bass to back thin wooded wall and large window....
May be in the future.
I appreciate Scott and Dave for so many designs.

I am so happy that I could post here for the Makalu sound impression.
I built it with cheaper material.I found cheaper mahogany for baffle for good looking.
Not only bass, treble and mid also good.
It making great sound stage,3D imaging and relaxed sound flowing in the air.

It depends on which box you choose. Maop10.2 works surprisingly well in the miniOnken. Disappears completely in the soundscape. But we all have different preferences and different electronics and rooms.
I like the CHP-90 a lot too.
Would be fun to try the CHP-90 in the miniOnken. Compare them in the same box.
I wasn't too keen on running Maop10.2 in a Pensil. But we probably have slightly different tastes.

True,it's just a joke for expensive Maop.
I know there is no best.
I can concentrate on building DAC ,pre
or power amplifier accompany with Makalu.

It's fun to find drivers that can produce such good sound compared to really expensive drivers.
So from a little distance, Mark Audio is a bargain in terms of what they can perform in their price range.
