Well, yes, but then it takes a bit morte work to rotate the mains phase. Try it, it is worth the trouble !

depending on the orientation, leakage currents differ

soundwise the best orientation is more relaxed, and has some better imaging. Differences are not always that big, and digital gear seems more sensitive
