its not tested, but the small device pinouts are same as original sch posted here.

Maplin 100w Rocks!
I have been wanting to test the classic Maplin design for quite some time.
I did not like to original Maplin pcb as published many years ago.
So I used Prasi's design from post#38 in this thread.
I used the highest hFE matching 2SA872A in my collection for the LTP and KSA992/KSC1885 for the VAS and stuff.
Outputs are old stock 2SJ162 and 2SK1058. Offset ~5mV.
It sounds surprisingly good with deep bass, no hum no hiss.
Thanks Prasi for the perfect pcb design (as usual!).

I have also done an upgrade to the Maplin lateral mosfet amplifier.
I added front end RC decoupling to stop output signal or supply hum getting into front end. I also added a DC offset pot.
I also added option for TO3 or TO247 lateral mosfets.
It sounds great and deadly silent with no signal in. Perfick !

Received the boards what can I say top quality I am looking forward to building with them !
To anyone out there that wants to build a lateral mosfet amplifier you will not get a better start than these
Many thanks

I've been hankering about another Hitachi based Mosfet amp for a while and ending up buying a used one for listening too and improving (I'm sure the electrolytics will be due for replacement). Because although I have had many amps since solid state and thermionic, diy and commercial, There was something missing from my experience with that early Mosfet design. So lovely to be reading this thread ! Thank you Diyaudio for keeping it open 🙂
Check out the LINX range of amplifiers, Nebula integrated amp, Quasar integrated amp, or Vega power amp, Pulsar power amp, as all use the 2SJ49/2SJ50 & 2SK134/2SK135 mosfets.
