What you see it's not a plate really, but silver blue paint. I've seen that on several Motorola/Onsemi transistors. In fact I think all MJE parts use it.
It's the upper part of the transistor.

Hmmmm really interesting...I got some On-semi parts...namely the c106D(scr) but it doesn't have tt blue paint like u said...just a bit raised...that's all...the funny part picture led me to put the semi-conductor in the wrong way round...I reveresed it later nad it worked well thereafter...
Hi Jan!
I checked the pcb I made and still can't find anything wrong.
I will just wait for your pcb layout before trying this amp again.
When is it coming?

It comes within 2 weeks time...I got that info from ACD straight...we had some E-mail correspondence lately...and I traded some stuff with him...not sure how much he will charge for a couple of PCB's though...he tells me he will be providing the extended version...BTW wad Op-amp are you using??
The PCB layout for the Extended version (with components list and quick assembly guide etc.) will hopefully be posted on my website today, and I will have some boards made in the week to come... 😉
Hmmm...good to hear that...wonder if any other person has actually built a working version of it though...
I know that several has build an amp based on the LYNX 😉
I and some of my friends have five versions running (hard-wired and on homemade PCB's), and I have received inquiries for app. 14 (2 channel) boards Proff-made , so.......🙂

I'm kinda interested...how does it sound hardwired...but for neatness I would go for PCB...it seems a bit strange to have such a big amp with an Opamp in front running p2p...how do they wire the opamp...turn it upside down and wire wrap??
If we didn't think it sounded good hard wired, I wouldn't use all this time making a real Proff PCB😉
Well sound is an objective matter that differs from person to person, but to us it sounds like (as described on my website) the classical studio amps like Phase Linear and GAS etc.
The strongest side is the bass... Extreem ferm and controlled due to a dampening factor of over 700 (however the used PSU also playes a roll in the performance) 🙂
One of the amps are running in the local nightclub/disco with a
800W/2x47.000uF PSU per channel.................

WOW~! that is just crazy...looking forward to getting my PCBs then...and yeah...thanks for suggesting a trade...

Jan,
I am visiting your site from time to time so that I could get a view of the pcb. I hope that the pcb you will be posting is a version of what you are using now.
Cheers,
JojoD

I expect to publish the assembly guide with PCB-layouts etc. on my website tonight CET 😉
I'll post a message here, when it's up

Hey~! Good to hear that~! I will be checking back tommorrow...then...I have to get a bit of rest...here...it's GMT+8...wonder what's yours??
A temporary "Quick Assembly Guide" for the LYNX Power Amplifier is uploaded on my website for downloads 😉
WOW~! Looks like you got all the bugs fixed...ok...just the PSU and stuff left..keep going pal~!!!
