I actually have not tried the driver transistors since I got it working, I will try those tomarrow and see if it helped at all. I am going to redo my layout on my breadboard as it is getting a bit messy, and I HATE messy layouts. 😉

Hi. I know that this is an old thread but I just built this circuit and it is working good except that on standby (no load on secondary) it is pulling about 300mA. When I attach a load it handles very good. The toroid is getting a bit hot but the mosfets aren't. They remain cool or get a bit warm. The problem is the toroid I think. Can you upload the pictures of the finished setup please ThSpeakerDude88. I would really appreciate to see the finished circuit and how you did the toroid so that only 70mA is wasted.
