I thought someone tried approaching some of the distributors with that idea to no avail.
LOL, maybe someone could become a distributor😎 What do you guys think would be fair to pay for a price from someone willing to take a little risk and put money up front for these jfets, say 20 packs were available anytime you wanted to order them. I know this is OT from the GP and in no way am I trying to get in the way by asking this...but...It just popped into my head and perhaps I would consider it. This along with maybe doing large purchases of other popular devices and offering them up with a reasonable mark-up with reasonable shipping. I understand some areas of the earth have issue getting some of the stuff I thought was commonplace. This seemed like a good place to ask this but if the mods want to move it please do. What do you guys think?

I agree, 30 is enough and I am happy to pay you in advance.

Payment in advance goes without saying. No one in their right mind would fork out 2000 dollars on the promise of some flakey DIYer.
I am also ok for 30, 60, 90 what ever works....... What you may want too do Moe is to call both Mouser and Digi-Key and explain to them whats going on and see if they would become a Loveltech distributer..... just based on the large number of devices we all want to buy. You would be doing them a favor in helping them become a distributer...
Moe, I understand your apprehension at this large of an order.... as another option I could talk to the local Surplus Electronic parts place... Ra-Elco. They have been around for decades so its a safe place to send payments to. They would probably be willing to handle the entire group buy for a slight mark up in the per unit price...... Let me know if you want me to talk to them.... Its a safe option for everyone if you are uneasy about handling that much $$ and doing that many shipments. they wouldn't become a distributer per say but they are at least available at the other end of a phone if there are any questions.

Won't say anything more.Payment in advance goes without saying.
Please tell us how much, where to, how and when.
I really apprieciate the poeple willing to organise a GB. They should not be put into trouble in getting their money, and as for me can have some free parts as well for themselfs.
Thanx, Rick

Mark,
that has been tried already and didn't work.
When you're thinking about how many to buy, keep in mind
that there are more power JFET amplifiers in the works.

that there are more power JFET amplifiers in the works.

1989.
The Wiki problems are no doubt related to your browser. Whn i 1st started using the Wiki i had to go 3 browsers down my list to get one that worked.

Canada is a special case, with a rate in-between. In this case, it may be easiest to ship the entire Canada batch to 1 person for redistribution. A padded envelope & postage for 30 should be on the order of $3 CAD (i know what postage would be -- assumming <500g -- but haven't bought envelopes.
I'm OK for 30 if required.

I'd like a list of Lovoltech's shareholders before i say anything more.

Master,
in your experience how close is matching on these devices?
By buying 30 would one have enough pairs to make a resonably powerful stereo amp?
They are easy enough to match, but the designs I'm playing
with at the moment have enough Source resistance and
adjustability that it's not been an issue.
I have only used up a tube so far, so I don't know how much
variation I'll see in a general population, but I'm getting little
enough variation.

OK, I don't think it would be fair to limit to the first 50 people because it was stated that the buy was open until a certain deadline. I waited to sign up because I wanted to think over my needs, and I was assured that it would be open until the deadline posted.
Here is another suggestion: People who ordered 30 or less get 1 amount People that ordered more than 30 get 2 amounts..
Obviously this requires research of the WIKI list to determine what the amount should be ie 19, 20, 22, whatever. Its easy though, just count the people ordering more than 30 as 2 people and divide the quantity available by the total. , Then no whining...

Nelson,
Do you mean more amplifier designs based on the current Jfets that this group is looking to purchase, or do you mean a whole new JFet?????
Thanks!
Shall we redo the wiki if things have changed ? ie reenter the amount based on multiples of 30 ?

.......well guys, i really don't know what to do. The only thing that would be fair to all involved would be to make an order for 4,500 pieces. The problem is at that size i feel the group buy is to large for me to handle. I don't feel comfortable handling over 4,000 dollars and shipping to probably close to 100 people. I feel like i'm letting the side down here, but i figure better to be straight with all of you before money gets involved. Still open for ideas. m.
Well guys on the wiki list, interested in getting these VFETs - it looks like the more we complicate it for moe, the less chance there is him to get into purchasing them for us...
I would suggest to keep it as easy and simple for him to be willing to do it, if it is not too late already. He had told us he does not feel like handling the 4,500 pcs. quantity, yet because of the pressure on him he feels obliged getting everyone satisfied, or not doing it - which could be exactly what is going to happen. Why could some not have agreed on the simple deal of 30 pcs. for each on the list, which moe has suggested in the first place?
Andrej
I think the person who handles the group buy should set the amount he/she feels comfortable handling.
Next step. Using the current wiki list rerequest amounts in multiples of 30 . Then use the list to determine who can be involved in the group buy. This amounts to a first come first served solution.
