More than likely we'll be able to take care of the late comers
one way or another.
Hopefuly i'll be able to speak to someone at Lovoltech tomorrow.

Thanks! Was busy with school and a dash rebuild with the car (new comp season coming soon), and I haven' been online in a few days.
Testing...testing...
At long last, I've gotten a new PC. Dear Gussie, what an ordeal. I'm still breaking this one in. One of the things I have to teach it is how to talk to the diy site.
Obviously, it's predecessor didn't want to cooperate (at least as far as Wiki junk goes).
Regarding clamping, I've had good results with a simple aluminum bar across the device and one small screw on each side. Pretty much the same arrangement that someone posted earlier in the thread. It works well enough that I've been able to get a little advance work done with the limited number of devices I have available. (No, I ain't telling where I got 'em, so don't ask...) If I ramp up to larger designs--as is my intention--I may start looking at other options, but for the time being, a simple clamp works well.
I don't know about clips. Seems to me there are too many variables. If nothing else, I'd be worried about metal fatigue over time.

P.S.: If there's any emailing to be done about the JFETs, be patient, I haven't got my email working yet. Jeez, gimme a break...I've been flogging this machine for eleven hours straight trying to get all the stupid Microsoft Security Updates, patches, and such taken care of.
Ya know, I remember when MS put out tight code. Those days are gone, gone, gone...
Okay, I've got my fingers crossed--let's see if this posts.

Hi guys!
Is there a way for me to get included into this groupbuy?
I could realy use some 20 peaces of those fets. Was away during the weekend and missed the chance to participate (had some food gathering to do - it involved some pigs getting slaugtered
...).

UPDATE
Hi group buyers,
I heard from Lovoltech today.
I spoke to their rep on the phone today and had a few things clarified.
Their minimum order is 2,250 pieces at 0.94 cents a piece.
They package 30 tubes at 75 pieces per tube in one static bag.
They do not break down the bags.
So we order either 2,250 pieces or 4,500 pieces at the same price.
They will only ship COD to me at this time.
The easiest solution to this problem would be to order 2,250 pieces
and have each member purchase 30 pieces.
I'm open to suggestions as to how to proceed 🙂

Re: UPDATE
Get the cash up front and go for 30 each.
The GB's i have witnessed so far show people backing out, if so there are plenty GB members left to take the spares.
With the voltage rating of the Lovoltechs even 10 of these will get us going.
If others feel differently i'll go to 100 or 150 if needed, either way.
Your shot, Moe.

I believe that several of us, especially if early on the list, have ordered more than what we would need at the present time (ordering 50, 75, 100, 150 pcs.)
I ordered 50 and would be happy with 25 to 30 pcs.
I would say go for 30 pcs. each as first suggested.
I hope those who wanted less than this, would not object to order more or else they could stick to the originally requested lower number, and the remaining number could be split into a higher number per person, rather than 30 pcs. each.
For those who wanted more, I would just say be happy with the 30 pcs., it would be more than enough to get you starting.
If there is enough demand, another order of 2250 pcs. could be later put through.

30 pieces + Postage + Handling Fee. Cash up front before a set date. That could work for me.
Or:
First come, First serve would also be good. Fill the first 2250 pieces with the orders from the wiki. First 50 wiki-entry would be served.
A second GB could be started to fill the second bag of tubes.
Cash up front again. Not paid before a set date, then the wiki-entry goes to the bottom of the list.
Maybe not the most popular (friendly) way, but will be a sure and business like approach.
You will know within a limited time who's backing out or not.
You decide what's best. Thanks in advance for taking so much trouble.

I can go up or down...only really needed 10 or so to play around with in some small designs.
Let me know, I can chip in for 10 more if need be.
And I can chip in more if someone can match them or atleast test them for me.

I have ordered only 10, but can also take more, if necessary. I can always send them in case to somebody else lateron.
I can deal with 30. But if I asked for 100 and I am at the top of the list, I'm SOL unless we can do another GB... My vote, naturally, is a first come, first served approach... Payment would necessarily be part of that as someone's bis sense suggested... Or maybe just some way of getting closer to what I wanted. How about just a rail. 75 wasn't it???
Anyway, my selfishness aside, I'd like to thank everyone involved for all the efforts towards a plesant new DIY adventure... Thanks.

I ordered 10 but will take 30 happily, and will sub distribute to the needy. I will prob use 16
I'd like to stick at 100 if the math can be worked out.
On the other hand, you could leave the buy open for another week and hit 4.5k at the rate things are going.
In old Star Trek parlance, my e-mail is limping by on impulse power. If anyone needs to tell me anything, just post it here and I'll try to get to it as soon as I can...if the computer gods are willing.

GB new minimum
Hi, Moe;
I can up my request to 30 from 25. Barring mishaps an even number works better for more projects with the jfets. Please keep us posted as to when you will need payment. And let me know if you cannot take a postal money order since that's one of my few options at this time 🙁
Todd.
