Does anyone make a cheap socket for this jfet? The reason I
ask is a socket would make testing and matching a lot easier.

Hi
For those interested , I have about 600pcs of LU1014D Fets.. I can only sell them UNMATCHED at this time, I'm very busy with my day work and other things..sorry..
As for the price, how about 2.5$/pc plus PP fees and shipping..
Registered Mail cost 5$+(depending on quantity). Contact me if you want EMS.
I accept Paypal or Western Union
thanks

Woody,
Radio Shack et al have a cheap breadboard for proto typing these work great for building a quick jig for testing and matching transistors.

Woody,
These TO251 size packets have the standard 0.1" pin spacing so the standard IC DIL socket will fit but not be happy with the current (1A max) - ZIF sockets the same
Molex has some 2.54mm Crimp socket housings in 7 way (or more) that are rated at 3 amps that'll do job nicely (RS catalogue no = 490-5218)
Phoenix Contact have some 2.54 mm pitch vertical mount terminal blocks (MKDS Series) that'll carry 6 amps at 63 volts - you can find them in the RS catalogue (220-4276) for the 3 way -
Digikey probably has more.
Regards .. Jh

Hey everybody... sorry I've taken so long but it took me awhile to finalize this deal. I don't have them in hand yet but I've gotten my fedex tracking number from QSpeed (AKA Lovoltech) they should be delivered today and I'll get a look at them on Monday. I bought up everything QSpeed had left after their last shipments to their customers (they still had 12,000pcs. left) they'd actually had them written off the books and were destined for destruction. Luckily I was able to get in touch with the new CEO (the interim CEO during the company's restructuring from Lovoltech to QSpeed told me they had all been destroyed... but they ended up just being stored away in a corner of their warehouse)
So I'll have 12,000 of these... plenty for awhile, I'm going to offer them matched for $2.75 each. They be listed on the website and I'll have them grouped by their test result numbers. I'm not going to offer any unmatched because I want them to last as long as possible (these were the last they made after all).
When I get them all ready I'll also open a thread in the Vendor's Bazaar

You're gonna be like Hafler -- building amplifiers as he had an excess supply of transformers.
Congrats !
I'm just glad that more people will be able to enjoy this wonderful little chip. I know my first set made me very happy.

F3 WIKI started
I have started a WIKI for possible PCB's for F3 to help with these projects as people seem to aquire some Lovetech JFETs. If we can get 50 sets (a stereo pair) then Peter Daniel should be able to do a run.
If your interested, please edit the wiki carefully.
