Yep, she will calm down in time. I have my very own listening room so she doesn't even see this stuff.
Oh Crap! I just paid for the Field Coil 10" full range drivers. Boy is my wife going to be pissed when I tell her what I did!

I pulled these out of storage to drive them. Bruce Rozenblit OTL amplifier.
Well, she might wonder why the electric bill is so high but, on the other hand, she won’t have to worry about being cold this winter!
Yep, it will be a toasty winter.
Any updates on the Sonido FC? DId you test them out of the box to see what they would sound like? I was very close to getting them but ended up getting Lii Audio's Fast 10 drivers. How good do they sound? Put it like this, when I tested them on Hubert Sumlin's blues song, "Sometimes Im right," in my half completed, monsterous enclosure, my wife came up to me and said, "You are getting some tonight."

I'm excited for you. it's like a Christmas present for an adult. They are ordered but it will take time to get here from Hungary.
I love that you chronically have some sort of speaker-itis. Staying tuned (and jealous) as well...
Pssst: This might lead around the big circle again. Just think -- Patrician-waves with directivity-matched FC mids 🙂

It might Grind. Now that I'm into field coils, I'm learning all about them so I can may own. Maybe a 4 way FC horn system
I was looking at the picture of the driver I ordered and it dawned on my that with a whizzer cone and a phase plug there is nothing blocking dust from getting into the gap.
How do you all deal with that???

As long as the driver is mounted as intended (not facing up), and you are playing them in a woodshop with no dust collection it should not be a problem.
There are thousands and thousands (at least) of drivers in the field in a similar situation and i have not seen or heard of any driver (other than a few stored face upward with no box — all fixable, a rusty polepiece is a different thing) with an issue from this.
Don’t worry, be happy.
