"Source Z + 1kHz" is a really strange and I have never seen something like that. It must be a mistake. Whats "source" on an input? Whats "+ 1kHz"... really strange...
That spec is unlogical. I would assume 'Source Z = 1kohm', a 1kohm series resisitor to 'separate' various sources a bit (10k is better, but with more loss). This is from NAD amps. They use this designation on their Tape Out specifications. Not that it really matters here, other than that it tells us that Subuckethead uses a NAD preamp.
Such an error persist with copypaste practice.
Could be, but they use it in other amps with other values too:Such an error persist with copypaste practice.
It might say that the tape outputs adds 1k or 440 ohm to the source. For example a CD with output Z of 100 ohms would result in 540 or 1100 ohm at the tape output.
Very strange but I cannot interpret it any other way. Would this make any sense?

OK - yes so in the OPs case they happened to write kHz instead of ohms. **** happens 🙂
Z source + 1k ohms can make sense.
