Have you considered using the " Bondo " that contains chopped fiberglass strands to hide seams?

I'm scheduled for surgery next Wenesday. I managed to get some tearing in the Triangular Fibro-Cartilage Complex and the Luno-Triquetral Ligament of my right wrist. Being right handed and a complete "Klutz" with my left hand, this is going to be one heck of a Summer (with a cast on my arm for 6 weeks or so!)
Get well and take care of yourself, but remember: You're not alone!

6 weeks later and its looking and feeling much better. Just a little stiff now and occassionally aches a bit.
Everything else is OK but I've been told to avoid heavy lifting so no lugging around and cutting 8' x 4' sheets but it feels better each week.

Good to hear about your injury. Have you been formulating any ideas while you where out of commission? I am particularly curious to know what the LGTs are up to these days or if you had any further ideas for surround speaker designs? I've been doing a good bit of reading recently about IB subwoofers and I think that if your home allows it they seem to be your best bet for high quality low frequency output.

My surgery evidently went well, although the surgeon said that it was hard to see anything as the ligaments had a lot of "shreds" that he had to pare away. I'll start Physical Therapy Wenesday and then it's just a matter of time to heal.
I hope you're doing better as well, just take care of yourself until you're fully healed. Then it's on to speaker building!!!

Perhaps initially against my will, I've been spending a lot of time taking stock of what I have now. Its been good because when your system is in a constant state of flux then you never really have a chance to appreciate and understand it. For me, there is such a thing as DIY for the sake of DIY or maybe that should be change for the sake of change.
The system sounds great right now and I really enjoy the time spent listening. I've got a bunch of idea's for upgrades and a list as long as my arm for to-do projects but I'm not feeling the urge to try and move the sound onward and upward.
Still looking at surround sound but will only keep that if I can integrate it successfully without affecting stereo performance.
Sadly I don't have the right circumstances for IB but yes I'd agree with you on that.

Infinite baffle is indeed a brilliant solution to huge, high displacement bass. If you're willing to cut a hole in the wall, or give up a door or window or some such, there's not a lot of ways to top it. There are, however, a few issues. One is the backwave- if you're anywhere near civilization, your more enthusiastic output endeavors (if vented to the outside) may be met with some frustration. Another is the difficulty of treating room modes. A good way to do this with 'conventional' subs is to use a few in various locations, but this means more holes being cut in your walls/celing/whatever. Also, due to the lack of any excursion limiting feature, you have to use many drivers to achieve the sort of distortion free SPL you want to get, since they're playing LOOOOOWWWWWW.
But, with a proper rumble filter, and a few separate mounting locations, and a significant number of drivers, you can have monster, low distortion, low room-involvement sub-bass.

Not so interesting but I'm happy with the outcome so decided to post.
I've modified the plinths as I was never overly taken by the original squared off thing. That one really come about because, at the time, I wanted something functional ASAP and without the hassle but now I've got a little more time, I've gone back and redone as I'd originally envisaged it.
