For those interrested in waveforms and how the KSA-50 does here are a few square wave photos. The scope input is at X10 do you can figure the PtoP voltage of the waveform. Its really pretty good for an old design and the response down to DC is evedent in the perfect 20 hz square wave response. Sorry for the bad photos but my digital camera does not like my scope for what ever reason.

output transistors!
Dang it! Can someone give me an idea where to get plastic outputs as per Al's or Mark's BOM? I can't find the stupid things anywhere! Yes, I know about the onsemi program, the limit is 5 per and six are needed.
Thanks,
Marc

I got my MJL21193/94's, and the 2SC's and 2SA's from MCM/Newark. I am presently using TO3 versions of the same devices, MJ21194/94. These allow for 50 watts higher dissipation per device.

Thanks,
But they are out of stock on one of the complements. T0-3's won't go here.....
thanks again.

Its interesting as both Allied Electroncs and Newark also stocked them all the time. It may be related to the RHOS compliance and the switch over to those components that is making them hard to get right now. The price at E-Bay is a fair price so go for it since no one else seems to have any in stock right now. Its interesting they also have the TO-3 versions and they are double the price. I get my TO-3's from QSC for less than the price of the TO-247P plastic pack!!

The ONSemi program let me have up to 25 of each, the default value is five, but you can change it. Maybe they changed their program...
EDIT: Sorry, looks like they did change it. However, depending on which transistors you want I may have 6ea samples extra.

Googler, not anymore, on power transistors you can now only get 5, for small signal etc. you can still get 25. This changed within the last month or so, still 5 is better than nothing

Oh, Jack will be so pleased reading that line.

Well, you're further along than I am! I just sourced some ally sheet to go with the perspex and copper tube exoskeleton last week, but I haven't got around to doing anything with it yet.
