Anything over 50,000 uf per rail is adaquite.
I think 68k was the magic # mentioned in an earlier post.
Parts GB!!
I came home from work tonight, and what to my wondering eyes did appear.....
But a small envelope from Welborne labs with RESISTORS!!!!
So my wife and I will stuff the packages with them tonight and tomorrow and they should mail by Friday!...
I say should, because I haven't counted the resistors in the bag yet.

With normal (35-42V) rails they only get slightly warm, so no need for any heatsinks at all.
Troy, excellent news. So have you worked out exactly how long it took for delivery? 😉

Lets just say when I ordered I was saving money for my 8 & 10 yr old kids college, now I am paying their tuition.... 😀
Actually it was around 1.5 months....

EDIT:
Oh yeah, I won't make this mistake again... Next time I order ONLY from Mouser and Digi-Key. BIG, REPUTABLE suppliers. I am SO disapointed that I tried to support a smaller buisness and got ZERO customer support.
Keep in mind that the thing that bugged me most was that I placed the order on a weekend, they did not ship the entire next week, and then they left town for a week to go to the Rocky Mountain Audio Show. I can't beleive they didn't clear out their orders queue before they left town...
With regard to R105 22K trim pot. I have got 20 and 25K ones to hand. Would either of these be suitable, or is 22K value "critical"?
tmblack said:Sorry fo the off topic post but how do you get "quotes" in the white box effect?
Tom
Three ways that I know of.
Click the little white box next to the word quote in the lower right hand corner of each post and then click "Post Reply" at the bottom of the page.
or
Click the Quote button above the text box when typing your reply, then copy and paste the portion of text you want in the quote box,
or
type the word quote inside the "[" "]" brackets, then type or copy and paste the words you want in the white quote box and the type "/quote" inside then "[" "]" brackets.
Confused enough now? 😀
Blessings, Terry

you need 5K for setting the bias, for the offset, anything from 5 to 50K will work

Use the quote button! 🙂

thanks folks. let's see if this works. I need to login to see the quote button here.

Is that a Coldcube/Coldfin? How noisy is it?
Not sure what you mean, but here's another pic that might help. This is the same heatsink I used for the original T03 stage, but I rebuilt it when I changed outputs.
Using a simple LM317 thermostatic fan controller, (you can see the sensor mounted in the middle of the output devices), it runs very quietly, even with some fairly hefty bias

6 devices is OK for the plastic outputs... lol 🙂
I've got 5 pairs on each channel for mine...... Noticed last night it was running pretty "warm" (general heating of the room was noticed!) and i found that ambient was 31, so the hottest output (by a margin) was 72deg... So i turned the fans up 🙂
Al - how much bias ARE you running (or going to be at "maximum") and how hot are the chips running?
Aaron
P.S. I'd post pics of my amp, i've made it into a wind tunnel.... But i STILL (yes, still) don't have a case for it...... I'm thinking of building a "template" out of timber sometime soon, only problem is the weight.... I've got about 30kg or so of weight to put into it!
P.P.S. In light of the whole project (i'm running left-centre-right speakers off 3 krell clones), i'm making another 2 channels for my rear surround speakers.... With lesser quality components and also with a single toroid and set of caps... That way, i'll have 5 channels of krell 😉
Walter, yes. It worked fine on the prototypes. I think it's a lot to do with the 120mm fan, the extra diameter makes a lot of difference to cooling ability.
Pavel, well if you spend as much time on this project as I have, you might as well make it multipurpose! 😉

I thought it might be this: http://uk.farnell.com/productimages/farnell/standard/42267299.jpg
but it's not. It's a Semikron, 0.47C/W isn't it.
I have a pair of your boards, by the way. Nice work!
Hello, Upupa. Going to send pics of your Krell-a-like, or did you decide on JLH? ;-)
