Im rebuilding the power supply in this amp. All fets were toasted most of the gate resistors were bad and the driver also are bad.
Wondering if there is a good sub for the drivers B647 and D667 ?

I replaced all fets(3205's) in this amp replaced the gate resistors (100 ohm)
replaced the drivers (B647 and D667) and a couple 10k resistors next to the gate resistors.
When powering it up through a 1ohm 10 watt current limiting resistor it still draws 15 amps of current and the fets get red hot with 1 to 2 sec's
I pulled the rca jack board and the other driver board in it still draws current and fets get red hot.
Wondering where i go from here?

Do you know what they are using for rectifiers in this?? Outputs are out of the amp and it still draws current.
Not sure what the rectifiers are in this amp The F30D40D?

Ok pulled the rectifiers in the amp now it powers up and idles perfect. So something in the output section. Wondering where i start checking
Discharge the rail caps and measure the resistance across them. Do any read anything near 0 ohms?
Are any of the rectifiers shorted or leaking?
Are any of the rectifiers shorted or leaking?
also wondering if you know the part number for the rectifiers since 1 is shorted? The numbers on it are
MOSPEC F30D40D MA6F
MOSPEC F30D40D MA6F
F30D40D is the part number.

I don't have any sources or cross referenced parts. Check with Chris at dB-r.com. He may have something. Send him a link to the datasheet as well as the attached photo.

I can send you rectifiers ,if you can't find any.No chargeIm rebuilding the power supply in this amp. All fets were toasted most of the gate resistors were bad and the driver also are bad.

Perry do you know of a good part number for theese rectifiers?
I spoke with Vhris from db-r and he said that the one i have are universal type and i could use 200volt 20 amp instead of 300v 30 amp.
He said he doubts it would ever exceed 40 amps of output at 1 ohm. That would be 40 vac/40aac=1600 watts and thats if its a 2 ohm amp it would never exceed 20 amps total.
So wondering if you know of a good rectifier for this amp?
Any help would greatly be appericated

Carampsguru, I would greatly appericate it. Wondering if you could email me at mike49504@hotmail.com to make some arrangments
If carampsguru can supply the parts, there's no need for a sub. The part number you have is the full part number for the original.
Id really like to thank CARAMPGURU for sending me the rectifiers I appericate it alot!!
Perry,
I powerd this amp up and it idles around 5 to 6 amps but it produces clean audio and seems to be working like it should.
Is there still a problem with this amp since its idling around 5 to 6 amps of current??
