Keystone Sub Using 18, 15, & 12 Inch Speakers

Keystone 18 Plans + CNC Files (Metric Version) & Amplifier Advice

Hey everyone,

We've adapted the Keystone 18 plans to metric, converting all dimensions from inches to centimeters while rounding non-critical values to keep the design intact but easy. We've also included the necessary CNC files along with a complete wood materials list for easy cutting and assembly.

Now, for 2025, what amplifier would you recommend to power 2 to 4 Keystone subs loaded with 18SW115-4Ω drivers? Looking for something not too expensive and reliable™

Do you have any personal experience with the reliability and longevity of the amplifier (and brand) you recommended?

Hey Art,
Since the OP asked for budget option and reliable,
i think sanway check all the boxes

Not that one specifically i have dealt with,
but the Labgruppen clones
sourcing a PA rack for a band around 4 years ago

They are still using their sanway amps and not a failure
I did recommend sanway cause they are responsive and if something goes south
they will send you the module or board you need, those amps are very modular and easily serviceable

maybe a Berry Inuke 6000 😎
i did not ask the OP what was the budget

CVR and Admark are options but i have not dealt with anybody from them.... Sinbosen have a not so good track record
according to "sonideros" people in Mexico

and speaking of that
Polymarchs is a mobile DJ collective based in Mexico City, established in 1978
swapped all their many racks of Crown Macrotechs for sanway amps
( to remove weight )

Hey guys! I currently own 4 Rockville RVW1800p4 subs. These are in two dual 18” ported cabinets that I think are tuned to around 40hz (I didn’t build them so need to confirm for myself). How would these fare in a Keystone box? I know these are are far far far worse than a B&C 18sw115, but I already own these. I’m wanting to either put these in keystone subs or build more double 18 br cabs. Would I get spl with one driver that’s comparable to two of these in a 2x18 bass reflex? And would I get some solid low end extension in the 35-40hz range? Again, I know these are cheap drivers and am not expecting the moon here. Basically I’m weighing my options between building 2 more double 18 cabs (and getting 4 more drivers) or just building 4 keystone cabinets and throwing my existing drivers in, knowing I can always get some 18sw115s and beefier amps if I really need more spl.

In the upper range, possibly.

No, those cheap drivers don't have enough BL (magnet strength) to push the bottom range of a TH like the Keystone.
The cone is only about half the weight of the B&C 18SW115, so probably would sound distressed when pushed hard in a TH.

Gotcha. Thanks. So given the weak BL, would they also not do well if put in solid dual 18” enclosures tuned to around 35hz? I’m trying to decide if I should just bite the bullet and get some better drivers.

@FHDCrew In properly sized (very big) box, your current drivers probably just could run a ported design, but if we are not talking about cheap chipboard garrage mockup, you might be closer to wasting the wood than not.

In that case, I would build the quality bins that you like and that fit the suitable drivers, just to make the step, prepare grounds for proper sound and to extinguish that "audio urge", would have slapped these drivers in such enclosures anyways, and be preparing for a driver update. There are cheaper, still suited drivers for Keystone, than 18SW115. Possibly LaVoce, or others.

Hey @Hyakutak, I am still very interested in the cnc files. Are you planning on sharing them still? Your last post sadly contained an empty file

I'm sorry, but I'm not the original author of these plans. A friend of mine created them, but he's currently unavailable, and he doesn't have CNC experience. He simply exported the files using his CAD software.

That said, I've attached the full project here in case you'd like to take a look or experiment with it.

The "STEP.zip" folder comes from a different project someone shared with me previously, don't know the quality either.
