I'm not sure he's a swindler. I don't think he sells anything and my impression is that he fully believes in his crazy theories.
My impression is that it will never be ready, it's been years you know. I'm afraid it is reminiscent of some of the free energy projects where the world was not quite ready to deal with the implications.
Indeed, read the "Why I have given up" link I gave earlier. By all (okay, Susan Blackmore's) accounts, these people truly believed in what they were doing, despite all evidence to the contrary.
An old neighbour of mine was a compulsive liar, I believe she thought she was telling the truth but I couldn't be sure, in the end I decided it was a waste of time trying to to work it out, that way madness lies and it didn't change the result.
She said it clearly about herself: Full of wishful thinking and self deception. (Thus, not competent for the task)

A brilliant piece, and thanks for referencing it for us. I myself have heard the voice of the Woman from the Future, again this Monday morning. She lives inside the GE MRI machine at the local VA and speaks with an accent not yet invented.
Unfortunately all she ever talks about is breathing exercises, and always the same: "Breathe in. Breathe out. Hold your breath. Relax." Good stuff to know, but not in the same category as stock market or horse racing tips. But I'm hopeful for next time.

When I played a 'magic' trick with cards, I (like and always) told my spectator friends that my trick is 100% intelligence and logic. But even so, my friend who got a master degree in Physics from one of the best uni in the country (University of Indonesia) thought that I must be an indigo...
