In this case i prefer to read only the cover...And you still judge a book by its cover. 🙄
In an interview, Billy Joel was asked what has made him a standout. He responded his ability to read and compose music made him unique in the music industry, which as he explained, was troubling for the music industry when being musically literate makes you stand out. An astonishing amount of today’s popular music is written by two people: Lukasz Gottwald of the United States and Max Martin from Sweden, who are both responsible for dozens of songs in the top 100 charts. You can credit Max and Dr. Luke for most the hits of these stars:
Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift, Jessie J., KE$HA, Miley Cyrus, Avril Lavigne, Maroon 5, Taio Cruz, Ellie Goulding, NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Ariana Grande, Justin Timberlake, Nick Minaj, Celine Dion, Bon Jovi, Usher, Adam Lambert, Justin Bieber, Domino, Pink, Pitbull, One Direction, Flo Rida, Paris Hilton, The Veronicas, R. Kelly, Zebrahead
With only two people writing much of what we hear, is it any wonder music sounds the same, using the same hooks, riffs and electric drum effects?

It feels like audio is shrinking as well. At least better quality audio playback equipment.

back to basics:
Patrick has made some useful suggestions, I happened to have a stash of NOS genuine Toshiba FET's, one can come up with a much better BOM with easier to find parts. The common mode feedback is an old idea, but it gives cancellation of second harmonic without complimentary symmetry.

You can actually conjure up that list without getting it somewhere?
And how is that different from 30 years ago?
Make that half a century.

And I promised to support FETs for at least 20 builders when interested.
We managed to get 2SK372s at reasonable price before they also got too difficult.
But it is now Scott's turn to (re)build. 😉

Well T, you spoke well. I have been without 'words' for days, just not knowing how to usefully respond here. It gets old, repetitive, and boring, after a long while.

That song was crystallized Futterneid (Jealousy for food in animals)
when the British took over Rock & Pop.

Right, just so you know he's making me do SMD again. Mine was all through hole. 😉.
Did you listen to early Katty Perry albums before being famous?s:

Don't forget she's the daughter of a priest!
Most of that list tells me nothing as to many people , but some of the commercial hits are decent .
A good friend of mine , before having his own recording studio, said:
"I listened to all Vivaldi opera, every single song that he composed in his life and only The Seasons are genius artwork .The rest of it is just garbage.."

The Universe itself is pulsing with the rate of white noise...don't try to change the Universe 🙂
That's 2.7K thermal noise, not white noise.

Wrong thread for that. This is the 50* year circular argument thread.
No, it's being hit on the head lessons in here.
With only two people writing much of what we hear, is it any wonder music sounds the same, using the same hooks, riffs and electric drum effects?
Do you honestly think the average person here listens to any of that list regularly?
Here's a list I guarantee never covered any Billy Joel, et al tunes.
Acid Mothers Temple, Astro, Aube, Boredoms, C.C.C.C., Crack Fierce, Diesel Guitar, Fushitsusha, The Gerogerigegege, Government Alpha, Hanatarash, Hijōkaidan, Incapacitants, Killer Bull, KK Null, Mainliner, Masonna, Melt-Banana, Merzbow, Monde Bruits, Ruins, Solmania, Space Streakings, Violent Onsen Geisha

Just to remember the times before the blue screen muting..
Dreamth put up some schematics that both Scott Wurcer and I am associated with the design. This is HOW quality solid state audio has evolved! Take it or leave it. Apparently someone is taking our designs and making something for themselves and others. Go for it!
Cool, it sounds like melotherapy. If i'm still offtopic , please allow me some other suggestion, one that i discovered just a year or two ago:Do you honestly think the average person here listens to any of that list regularly?

Two of them are semi-covers, but way better than the original .\
I didn't mention her first hit on purpose.
She went under the radar for 25 years and still have a gorgeous audience yet nobody knows her.

You have a narrow definition of nobody.
