So far as I am aware, we don't know one way or the other. When a study shows a link between two things, that by itself does not imply cause and effect. It only means some statistical correlation has been found.

"Try and hear" I know several guys who claim they hear if they turn a power fuse - mechanically, like change direction. People claim they hear absolutely everything, and there is no limit. I am still curious about JC's intents - is it a business only, keeping his customers, or he plainly believes what he is saying, or he is simply pulling our leg. Or a mix of all these things.

Unless you are of course playing on the joke that the fall doesn't kill you, only the landing...

John, being a 'legend' amongst a group of aging audio writers and their limited readership has to keep up the story. High end audiophile types have to have the story to believe in. My favourite is XLR connectors that needed 100 hours to bed in as too much iron in them.

I would sell them on the internet, the speakers they were used in were pretty good, but were limited in SPL. Make someone happy with them and save a bit of audio history.

Yes, thanks, they are the first driver that tends to go in those speakers, rubbing voice coils are common. No more "constructive" ideas?

For the price you can get for the KEFs you might be able to buy a better modern driver. Personally, I would not use it for a new project.

Yes like Charles Hansen, he once claimed he could tell if resistors were made just before a holiday because the workers were anxious to leave for the week. A single one anywhere in the input stage was obvious in seconds.

The 3 driver kit was quite popular in the 70's-80's. Pricey corrected for inflation.
