Is it one or the other? Why not both?
Rather than being rhetorical please just say what you know.

I just go with what I hear, and then compare that with others who have tried the same thing. You guys don't try, so you don't know.
Sigh...tin foil hats and cold blooded lizard chameleons...

Unless you try jumping out of a plane at thirty thousand feet without a parachute, you'll never know if you can fly by flapping your arms..

So far as I am aware, we don't know one way or the other. When a study shows a link between two things, that by itself does not imply cause and effect. It only means some statistical correlation has been found.

Actually I am now designing electronics for both Parasound and Audible Illusions, and I hope to do so for two other clients in the near future. What have you designed lately, Scott W?
I have a new product from AI on my test bench right now.
Good to know what to avoid as one wonder what a designer with these thoughts might have stuffed into the circuit. I'll go with knowledge and science instead.

"Try and hear" I know several guys who claim they hear if they turn a power fuse - mechanically, like change direction. People claim they hear absolutely everything, and there is no limit. I am still curious about JC's intents - is it a business only, keeping his customers, or he plainly believes what he is saying, or he is simply pulling our leg. Or a mix of all these things.
JN,
It is quite possible to jump out of an airplane without a parachute and fall 30,000 feet without being injured!

1) How many hours, per day, do you spend by listening?
2) How do you know that "We" do not try?
Thanks for your effort PMA, especially the PSU ripple picture.

It is about PSU filter capacitors to keep charged, short-term vs. continuous power.

I assume you mean Vesna Vulović - Wikipedia . She was injured. I think the record is Nicholas Alkemade - Wikipedia where he only got a sprained ankle.JN,

Unless you are of course playing on the joke that the fall doesn't kill you, only the landing...

We await the video of your test of this... 🙂
John, being a 'legend' amongst a group of aging audio writers and their limited readership has to keep up the story. High end audiophile types have to have the story to believe in. My favourite is XLR connectors that needed 100 hours to bed in as too much iron in them.. I am still curious about JC's intents - is it a business only, keeping his customers, or he plainly believes what he is saying, or he is simply pulling our leg. Or a mix of all these things.
Yes, thanks, they are the first driver that tends to go in those speakers, rubbing voice coils are common. No more "constructive" ideas?I would sell them on the internet, the speakers they were used in were pretty good, but were limited in SPL. Make someone happy with them and save a bit of audio history.
For the price you can get for the KEFs you might be able to buy a better modern driver. Personally, I would not use it for a new project.
Possibly, though at the moment they only seem to be fetching about 30 to 40 quid. The B110 are going for considerably more for some reason.

Yes like Charles Hansen, he once claimed he could tell if resistors were made just before a holiday because the workers were anxious to leave for the week. A single one anywhere in the input stage was obvious in seconds.

Bill,
Anyone can do it. Just start at 31,000 feet!

The 3 driver kit was quite popular in the 70's-80's. Pricey corrected for inflation.
