""Mornin’ Wood DIPA Double India Pale Ale
Earthy, Piney, and full-flavored double India pale ale. The focus is incorporating hop and malts into a balanced flavor fest""
Sheesh. Change one or two words, and it could be a cable advert.
jn
I need you to write my ad type.
I sent a bunch of cables to a guy once, with a image and caption.
It said, at the top, above the image 'Teo Audio'.
Then the picture of the bunny with the pancake on it's head.
At the bottom, 'Because we don't suck.'
I'd love to run that, full page, in an audio rag, but... some people have no sense of humour.

The truth will make you free!
And BS will make you expensive!
Did it feature that loony tunes from Toronto who spams all those threads with challenges to prove that his speakers aren't the most lifelike in the world?
What speakers are those? They wouldn't be the ones that are made from layers of Baltic birch plywood, would they?

Have no idea. Never seen them, never heard them, and it's sort of hard to figure out what the guy is actually trying to say. He's apparently a retired bottling line mechanic.

So you don't even know what brand they are? What's the guy's name?

Something like Song Audio.
Ah, ok. From your description, I thought it was someone else.

Sy,
Is that the guy with the name Songc that I see in other threads? He has some very strange ideas and I think he is in the same boat as Frank, says a lot of things that make no sense at all.

I *think* it's Song Kim. And he's actually designed and built things, so he's got that goin' for him. Which is nice.

Yeah, it's Song Kim. My business partner knows him too.

The Story ... JC-1
John, This is a good sounding amp, also have to say , The case ! this amp deserves a better looking case, it looks too pedestrian, i hope this is addressed in the mk2 version you are working on.

Well Wayne, the design is 10 years old or more, and it looked pretty darn good when we first introduced it. Functional too. I have no control over the appearance in any case.
Yeah, it's Song Kim. My business partner knows him too.

There is a web site from Song Kim
Stereopal.com - McIntosh Factory Tour
and shares a secret from a visit to McIntosh plant that caught my attention…
“ATTENTION COPY CATS !
Listen up: this is the secret ingredient,
McIntosh puts melted Chocolate into their transformer to make ‘em sound better. Better start calling Cadbury.”
What do you make on this?
Thanks a.wayne for the LINK! I had no idea that this stuff was out there on U-tube. I even told my business partner about it, because he has a whole batch of Parasounds that he has to keep going, was well. The U-tube info can be very helpful to understanding my position on amp and preamp design and how much time, money and effort is put into each product. I could not have begun to explain it as thoroughly, and it should overcome a certain 'prejudice' about what I do, and why I do it. Actually, I barely make a living at this, but it is a pleasure to be an audio designer.
Another one
MBL 6010D, yet another big $$$ preamp full of 8-legs and this one $25,000. So Boulder and MBL how do they do it? They get good reviews from the usual suspects.
I never knew about these folks, I'm used to seeing "no IC's" about first or second in the design philosophy section near a comment about little or no feedback.

I hope to measure IC differences in the near future with my latest investment in test equipment.
I would like to put test results where my ears are, much like Ed Simon has over the past years.
