and have we factored in the growing selling fee?

Usually worth every penny, last I looked it hasn't changed (actually gone down) in decades. 3% brokers are available now. I have no problem with a mortgage and retirement at rates approaching 2% I rather leave it invested.

As for healthy food...

Pig-fish Farming System

Pig-fish integrated system was first developed by pig farmers in an attempt to increase farm revenue when pig feed price started increasing. This form of integration is generally found in relatively large farms. Pig pens are usually located near fish ponds or on the pond dikes for convenient washing of pig manures and wastes into the pond.

It has been estimated that a stocking of five to ten 10-kg pigs per 0.16 ha fish pond (31–62 pigs/ha) was most suitable for a stocking rate of two thousand 3–5 cm tilapia or tilapia cum striped catfish fingerlings (12,500 fingerlings/ha). When pigs are young and small, low cost supplementary feed (e.g. rice bran, food wastes, plant wastes) may be required for the fish. After the pigs have attained 50 kg body weight the above stocking rates would allow adequate nutrients for the fish.

Recommended fish species are tilapia and striped catfish due to their ability to tolerate the fluctuation in pond environment. Carp may be stocked in addition but silver carp (Puntias gonionotus) is not recommended due to its low survival rate.

Hybrid pigs (Large White/Landrace/Duroc) are recommended for this system. Pigs can be fed on mixed and/or concentrated feed. Cassava can be partly substituted for broken rice to reduce feed cost. The feed should contain 13–14% protein.

Four to five months after stocking, tilapia can be harvested; partially harvesting to reduce stock density. Striped catfish will grow to a size of 1–1.5 kg each within one year. It has been estimated that fish yeild can be as high as 1,800–2,000 kg/0.16 ha/yr (11,250–12,500 kg/ha/yr). About 60% of the total revenue from this integrated system is cash costs leaving 40% net income for the farmers (Wannakul, 1983).

Duck-fish Farming System (Yes it goes on...)

Well, in many countries they put pig manure on the fields to promote crop growth. I sort of live in the country where I am so get a stink every few months. It's called 'mucking' over here.

However, eating fish raised swimming in the stuff seems a step too far. Is it not the equivalent of soaking your tuna steak in your unflushed toilet bowl before frying it up?

Just sayin'

😕

The taste of Strawberries can reflect the soil that they are grown in, and similarly fish can reflect the water that they grew in.
Asian sourced Basa (catfish) fillets are available here cheaper that other fish fillets.
The Mekong River is highly polluted and a major source of Basa farm/pond water - "Dirty Waters, Dangerous Fish"
Heavy metal residues in imported frozen fish and Pangasius hypophthalmus (Basa) fish fillets.pdf

Just Sayin'.

A fire range ecologist might consider raising scatfish in the toilet bowl, without flushing.
Barry (Chi McBride, Let's go to Prison, '06) might say it goes down very well with a glass of toilet wine.

(Action Comics #1, 10¢ in 1938. A CGC9.0 went for $3.2M on Ebay in 2014, 25.5 percent CAGR. A low quality CGC5.5 copy was auctioned 5 weeks ago in Dallas for $956k, still good for a CAGR of close to 22.9 percent.)

Then I would be wondering about antidepressants and other pharmaceuticals ending up in the fish.

And so you should.

Also worry about those microbeads used in skin-cleansing washes.
They are too small to be filtered out either by sewage systems or living digestive systems. Also other discarded plastic does not decompose but breaks into ever smaller pieces and by now it is almost impossible to buy fish which does NOT contain plastic.

I'd have trouble chosing between the Zooloftia filet and Serlain steak.

(in the meantime, an image taken from the Rim of my balcony toilet)

I had a good friend that bought a copy in 1966 for $500 and sold it two years later for $1500 and was very happy.

Re: the recent discussion of intelligence/IQ.
Intelligence has been defined in many different ways including as one's capacity for logic, understanding, self-awareness, learning, emotional knowledge, planning, creativity and problem solving. It can be more generally described as the ability to perceive information, and retain it as knowledge to be applied towards adaptive behaviors within an environment or context.

History Of The Term
Intelligence derives from the Latin verb intelligere, to comprehend or perceive. A form of this verb, intellectus, became the medieval technical term for understanding, and a translation for the Greek philosophical term nous.
In my time I have met some very interesting and experienced people, and learned/gained much wisdom from each of them.
Foremost among these, are two particular individuals, one a nuclear physicist who worked on the Marshall Islands and Maralinga nuclear projects and the other a dowser/diviner who showed me that senses are many fold more than the accepted 'five senses', and are to be trusted.
Very interesting, is that the nuclear physicist discussed and advocated dowsing, usually regarded as an 'esoteric' art and doubted.

Intelligence is about using ones learned information, AND ones 'secondary' senses.

Many different types of intelligence have been proposed. The type measured by IQ tests is one kind. And there is even a little variation between the various well established IQ tests in terms of exactly what they measure. A problem with un-measurable, subjective definitions of intelligence is that they are not of much use for scientific or analytical purposes.

To gain my apprenticeship with the then only Aus Telco was to sit a six hour examination.
Prior to this test, a friend handed me a bunch of IQ test practice books.
These tests did help me muchly, if only to understand the test question methodology and expected answering.
Conclusion: IQ tests gauge ones ability in mechanical skills (mathematics etc) and reasoning skills, but principally they are a gauge in ones ability to answer IQ type questions as per Jan's summation.

As per the limitations of audio system test and measurement, so are the limitations of IQ testing.

Dan.

There is one rather different IQ test, but results correlate pretty well, but not exactly, with the other IQ tests. It is sometimes used when sufficient familiarity with language or numbers might be an issue. But it does largely measure the same basic underlying brain functionality, such as working memory, that all the other IQ tests seem to be measuring. I am thinking of the Raven's Progressive Matrices test.
