If not already familiar with them, you might want to check out “the 2 Cellos”. They cover a very wide range of genres with both virtuosity and unabashed joy that is palpable even on the smallest of screens.

I love the sound of cello used in jazz music. On Eric Dolphy's album Out There Ron Carter plays cello. It's such an expressive "vocal" instrument I don't know why it it's used more. Please turn me on to more

If you can get into some of the more strange and bizarre cello music you might like Robin Dupuy. A French man living in Japan. I only know of him through his work with Salyu.
That's great stuff, thanks a lotTry Hemphill's Dogon A.D. for starters. It's an amazing album, and Hemphill's first as a leader.
