An empty Behringer plastic speaker box.
I'm just wondering what I can do with it?
I do have a couple of 15" midrange drivers in the shed
Is it worth getting a cheap compression driver to do the top octaves.
Just a play project so I don't want to spend too much money, Or for that matter any money at all if I have something in the shed.
It will be passive what-ever I do

One of these piezos will probably screw right in, cheap as too:

I'll check as soon as I have the box undone, I need a Phillips head #2 with a 300mm shaft to get the last 2 screws out
Just hook up a low watt AM radio to it.
Super Mono.
I did have a large 78 record collection.
So took a single speaker / mono application serious
at one point
Something different would be those emergency
radios with a hand crank / dynamo when
power goes out. Hook it up to one of those
for emergency parties.

I'd say yes. A quick look on ebay suggests you can get ones with a voice coil and a phase plug for prices comparable to domes. Is it worth getting a cheap compression driver to do the top octaves.
Look at the SBs from Wagner. Is it worth getting a cheap compression driver to do the top octaves.
Definitely not High Fidelity Iggy. just another small fun project to while away my retirement and spend my kids inheritances. Thinking the top to a party subwoofer. I could even add in a plywood baffle and use a 12" mid
Yeah I know, I am a sorta of itching powder guy. But I really was serious, if I could I 'd like to have such a door bell with random sounds ! I am a fan of surealism ! 🙂
Can you imagine the face of the neighborhood if your bell is 110 dB with a 5 seconds animal farm sounding (or any random sound that changes at each bell) ! Next step is TV and you open a bar in front of the house 🙂 ! I just willl ask some money to Behringer for that !
