I wonder if the new speakers will sound as good as...
I know 😀 Your ported box will bark like a Chiwawa : WAF,WAF...Waff, but Odougbo's sub's will sound like an St. Bernard : Woof.Woof.. Wooooooof.

It's not my sub in the picture. It's one Odougbo made about a year ago.
Point made, i'm sure Odougbo agrees.
revb. 🙂
Hi ODougbo,
Thanks for the nice pictures. Have you tried different stuffings, e.g.: thinning out the suffing density as you are going away from the speakers, and carrying the stuffing to the middle (or around) of the corner?
Regards,

Regards,
so a few months ago i bought the q acoustics 2050 subwoofer, and now they've had time to break in ive noticed i get so much port noise even at low volumes, and its the most annoying thing ! so im thinking about removing the drivers and amplifier, and getting a nice box design done for them ?I did try to graduate the fill; not easy...gravity may help over time (-;
I put the new tall box (2nd) in the opposite corner of the room, I was a little disappointed, there is too much boom, sounds a bit intense instead of a nice bubbly flow. They do make nice rear speaker stands.
Send a pic of your build..

2009, send a pic of your sub that has port noise - maybe you can replace the port with a passive radiator.
Dan, here's a new pic (no fancy feet this time - will cut soon) the combination of the corner and the flanking desks are creating boom (plus the 4 wire cable is 25'). It is a little better now, since I moved things around. I don't think the boxes sound different other than the tall ones point down and fit tighter in the corner.
I did have to lower the bass setting quite a bit when I made the switch; 4db according to the menu.
btw. thinking about making new rear boxes, that fit/angle better. I found a pair of 5.25" 1591"s Peerless woofers (super old but never used) and I have the new vifa tweeters. Would love to have a 12db crossover, but doubt that I'd get that right :-/

Hi ODougbo,
What you are describing sounds like room/subwoofer interactions. When you have multiple subs you get into all kinds of strange interactions. I'll add two links you might find interesting (if you haven't worked through them yet), start with Post #5 here:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/subwoofers/134568-multiple-small-subs-geddes-approach-138.html,
and an interesting application:

Maybe it's time to start investigating individual amplifiers per subwoofer, preferably with variable phase control?

I see, they are "not playing nice together"; the one in the r-rear is much louder.
I have an vintage Luxman M117, it has built in gain control for each channel - can't adjust the phase, but could balance them out out a bit.
e.g.
LUXMAN M-117 POWER STEREO OR MONO AMPLIFIER
