Ive been on it, ive tried winisd but when i change the port diameter the frequencyresponce stays the aame ? I tried a 4inch and 6inch port in a 100 litre box that gave me plua 2db at 25hz and that didnt change as i changed port diameter ?
Did you check/change the lenght?
i.e. large port, longer lenght - shorter port, shorter lenght.
i.e. large port, longer lenght - shorter port, shorter lenght.
it wouldnt let me change it, i could only change the diameter, the lenght would adjust to suit the tuning frequency i chose which was 23 hzDid you check/change the lenght?

Here we go again
One sheet of 1/2MDF, only a couple of small pieces left over. I did have to glue 2" to the left and right "long" sides, which will have reinforcement anyway.
Second photo, nothing to do with speakers, just a reminder that Spring is here.

You won't see changes to the FR if the tuning frequency stays the same. Changing port diameter with length being adjusted to kepp the tuning frquency constant, will only change the port velocity.

im looking at getting a pair of fostex fe103en's and building a horn using plans on the internet, i know most people use tube amplifiers for fullrange drivers like these, so would my denon pma710ae be okay ?Here are tb46's plans, took me a while to find them.
I tried building several pairs of full range, I found that the very 1st receiver I ever bought worked (Sansui 7070) the best to drive them.
(I don't have any tube amps)
Still working on the second single fold T-TQWT (going slow). My HIFY buddy came over the other day, he couldn't believe the way they sounded 😱
(I have 4 sets/subs completed, working on the 5th)

how do they sound ? when i watch videos of them on youtube they come accross good, its just hard to believe a £40 speaker can sound like that, but im willing to give it a try 😀Still working on the second single fold T-TQWT (going slow). The Full Range? - they are very nice - won't knock your socks off with a transistor amp. I go with the HDS kits from Maidsound.
My buddy that came over has a lot of top/high end equipment and the HDS kits and $8 T-TWQT subs left him speechless. The HDS kits don't have much bass, but they are extremely natural sounding. They do need a couple hundred hours to break in.

not too sure where i could get one of these here in the uk, ive seen people run them on av recieves, stereo recieves plus i dont really have the money to buy a new amp for themgo with the HDS kits from Maidsound
The HDS kits are a great buy, the full range drivers have a tough time competing with a good tweeter - IMO.
I think you have some buying power over there right? The HDS kits are only 84 GBP (each) to offset the shipping.
btw save any lead sheeting you may find; for very unique speaker lining, lead is wonderful. Easy to do, but be careful with it, wash hands etc. These are lead lined (and HDS design).

Madisound needs to work on that add/page; I think they could sell 1,000s if they showed a few more pics.
Here is the tweeter (I like the buy-4-price over on this site!!) ($29.32, free shipping at $100, hummmmm)
Vifa XT25TG30-04 1" Dual Ring Radiator Tweeter 264-1016
This pic is the pre-made crossover.
btw, the HDS speaker is a sealed box.
btw II the tweeter works so well its laughable 😱 The voice coil is not where you would think, it's in the center of the rings.
