Apparently, MRII 594As are quite rare.

Good Q, I don't know of any.

Hmm, lowest is 700 Hz, so not in the same league as 500 Hz Altec/GPA, so guess an XO point needs to be spec'd.

Personally, I'd (like to) try this one... on the MRII 594 and many other horns.
Changes are, it would work well. At least, it's also got a radial phase plug.
The specified 700Hz minimum XO freq. (for PA) translates in 500Hz, probably even lower, at home.

I will just find a 1" to 1.4" adapter and run the altec 808-8b with the MRII 564 horns. Being able to play down to 500hz seems interesting.
I 'grew up' with 350, 500 Hz and the M19's 1200 Hz sound like mush mids to me, but is the most popular Altec by far, so what do I know. 🙁
I mean seriously; listen to one with the horn disconnected, to me it's kind of like listening to an old upright washing machine sloshing with a max load.

My own horns are slightly bigger than the MRII 594.
Total depth -0.75 cm
Mouth height +9.5cm
Mouth width +3cm.
The mouth is more akin to a JBL Bi-Radial though.
I'll post some pics one of these days.

Is that you GM, in the pic next to the sub?
You've got the (rather cool) looks of a biker.
At the moment, my beard is probably as big 😉
DIY or ?
No, these were once ordered by a local audio engineer/entrepreneur and inherited by his business partner/friend who builds custom cabs.
So far I haven't been able to ID the manufacturer.
These are well made fiberglass horns, somewhat similar to Community.
They look similar, but identical, to some of the bigger EAW horns.
About 30% bigger than the horn on top of the stack in the first image and probably closer in size to the mid/high horn of the MQV 1394e in the 2nd and 3rd pic.

Yes, circa 2003 IIRC and guess I look that way because I 'are' one since age 12, though never in a club/gang/whatever nor can actually ride unless it was a three wheeler [gag] and much balder and pretty much 'dirty' white beard nowadays.
Apparently my looks haven't changed much though, I was at a birthday party for a 95 yr old friend the other day and a couple I haven't seen in 22 yrs were openly shocked that I didn't look much different WRT skin, etc., wise.
Summers here are so freaking hot/miserable due to high humidity [heat index was 102 degF today] that I wear a Van Dyke half the year.

Indeed, at 500Hz the XT1464 won't load the driver very well. In a domestic application this isn't problematic, the loss of directivity control is.
Bjørn Kolbrek's latest blog entry touches on the subject.
Here is his measurements, the resistance and the reactance are out of control under 530hz... and it is a 200hz horn.
