Korg B1 is made to give you Sugar
Iron Pumpkins are made to be invisible in system, as possible
That's exactly why I prefer B1R2 over B1 Korg in my system and with my peeeeersonal taste. And tha's why I like Iron pumpkin idea and maybe I'll build it for my main system.
And yes, I came from "old" tubes, and yes, I built B1K.
Cheers and take it easy, boyz, it's only a passion... and we live for it 😀 😀
😱

Agreed. It all comes down to personal taste. I do keep sugar on the shelf for
when the mood calls for it. 😀
Back to IP: Conceptually are there any issues with building an IP supporting
both balanced and single-ended inputs and outputs? If there are no issues and
if one were really greedy, can one have 2 sets of se outputs along with XLR outputs?

yes, I believe every explanation covered in this and related threads
will find that for you later

something similar written in post #3 of Iron Pumpkin(s) and other smaller vegetable animals, Tips 'n' Tricks thread
I omitted to write there - but I'm sure that I wrote somewhere else (maybe in Tips 'n' Tricks thread) - of course that you can use either SE or Bal output, or both in same time
what wasn't my intention, and in the end was discovered - IP is Supreme Headphone preamp, too

Absolutely true - I use one set of the IP RCAs to drive the speaker side and the second set for the headphones. Great headphone amp !!!

my Uncle Bubba Bob is clever enough, so he knows to unplug hphns when powering amp, no need for unneeded load at IP output
🙂
🙂
Yes I unplug headphones when using amps 😀😀😀😀
Or actually I leave them unplugged and only plug them in when I want to do early AM listening 😉

Good idea to try with headphones. Just make/use 2xRCA to jack converter I guess? Or I could make a switchable socket on the unit itself if I want to make it more permanent?
The only pity is that there is no front headphones jack. If I had known before how well it drives the headphones it would have been a hole....I don't think headphone amps in the range of 2000 euros play this well. And I've listened various esoteric headphone amplifiers. With Iron just a smile from ear to ear. It's like I'm drugged.I even started to neglect the amplifier and speakers. 😀
It's not a topic - but I've even modified the headphones.
Now I have 7000 Gauss magnets.
About 10 meters of cable ... I can go fishing with headphones.

A big thank you to ZM for this world class product, excellent technical support when required. I will post a “user review” once I have sorted my Dac & Streamer.
Remote volume control
Iron Pumkin is my favorite preamplifier. And that's why I really wanted to add the remote volume control. Today I connected it to my system and it sounds fantastic. And I like that it's very quiet, and the remote control works like a charm and it's so comfortable😉. Thank you ZenMod for this wonderful volume control and for all your support!
