Just enough for one Bal IP..... and a head start towards Pumpkin

Quick sanity check:
On my pair of Antek AN-0218, continuity check on outputs (blue-green) is fine, but on inputs there is no continuity red-black. On either of the two donuts.
Anyone else experience that? Could I have gotten a bum pair?

Try measuring the resistance, which may be sufficiently high to not trigger the meter's continuity.
Dennis,
Good call. 60 ohms. Not insignificant.
Thanks,
Dennis (what a great name!)

Power supply tested in a very non-OSHA approved fashion.
Don’t try this at home. Wait. That’s where I did try it

that was stupid

though, still not even 0.1 of ZM

Yup. Well, I learn.that was stupid![]()
No harm, no foul.
I've also learned much more expensively. Zap-Poof!
So the essentials kit comes with two bags of transistors labeled A. I'm assuming within each bag is a quad of matched 2SJ74 and 2SK370. Does one need to keep the matched quad from one bag A separate from the other bag A? Or are they all close enough to mix and match?
Great question -
All balanced kits should have the same letter for each bag.
All A's can be mixed with A's and B's with B's.
Those that may get more than one kit. DO NOT mix As with Bs
Also, as noted on the packing list, please keep track of your letter for each build. Why? In the event that you may need replacement devices... it will be important to specify the letter, lest you have to replace a full matched quad vs. a single appropriate replacement part.

After much discussion with Patrick and a review of the tools we have available, here is how distribution has been arranged:
If your invitation will arrive in the middle of your night-time, it's your call as to whether you take action right then and there or after your morning coffee. If there is stock on the shelf left, it is available for purchase. If not, sign up for the next batch. But at least you have certainty knowing exactly when the invite will be sent.
If you requested both types of kits, please note you will only receive one invitation. Please purchase your requested quantity of one or both kits (and not more than you originally requested) at the same time, to ensure you don't pay twice for shipping.
Detailed instructions are included in the email, but we recommend you log into your store account first as when you use the key the key will bind to your store account forever. That way you won't lose access to the purchase page. If you are not sure if you have a store account yet, please try to sign in, or register so you're all good to go when you get your email.
There are a lot of ways that come to mind as to how this system could be improved. In the future we will build a nicer system to handle interest list signups and fair distribution of new projects. Any feedback on how this process works for you is appreciated and will help steer how things will be done in the future.
- Invitations to purchase are now slowly being sent out, in the order that people joined the interest list
- One invitation is being sent out every 45 minutes. Slow and relaxed.
- Every 45 minutes, the next invitation in the queue is sent out. 32 invitations per day. It will take 8 days to send out the 249 invitations.
- Your invitation email contains the web page to go to, and a secret key that will unlock the webpage.
- You have as long as you like to take action on your invitation - if there is stock left on the shelf you can purchase it. If it has sold out, there will be a "Notify me when available" button - click that and you will get put in line for the next batch.
- You can check your position in the queue right now, and find out exactly when your email will be sent: https://widgets.diyaudiostore.com/queue
- You can also see how many units are left on the shelf
- If you missed your email and you check your position in the queue again, your invitation will be resent to you

How long do we have to respond? I should be awake on Sunday when I get the email, but there are no guarantees.
Good question! You can take as long as you like to respond, there is no timeout or window for the invitations. As long as there is stock left, you will be able to make your purchase. I have edited my post above to include this information.

Please conveniently ignore your invitation email 😉Does this take into account the early builders? I checked and I'm still in the queue.
