Infineon MA12070 Class D

Yes! That is a good observation. My V1.3 has the MA12070. My V1.3 does not have R3/R7 but it has R5/R6. It appears that R1, R2 and R4 were soldered but they were removed. The IC has date code 1806.

Because of the thin wire the chip has been coated with an epoxy like stuff.

Yes, it is very frustrating ergo all the ratings on the board cannot be trusted and used for even the lower spec of the MA12040. I am outside of the dispute time on aliexpress.

Hopefully this can act as a warning to others that there are boards available that are being mis-sold whether it be in good or bad faith.

Also note that maximum power supply voltage of MA12040 is 18V! So if you wouldn't have known it would have been defective straight away when switched on (assuming it was a MA12070 with 26V max.).

I am suddenly very satisfied with a reworked V1.3 🙂

I see at Aliexpress 3 versions can be found:

1. analog 2 x 80W
2. analog 2 x 40W
3. digital I2S 2 x 80W

Is the 1. the red one with MA12070 and the 2. the blue one with MA12040? It seems like that. What color is 3. then? 3. should have the MA12070P.

I would like to do my first little diy project and build an MA12070 amp for my living room. This setup is used purely for TV and very occasional listening so audio quality is not on the top of the list. I do however want to integrate digital input and I need optical in for my TV. As I am a real newbie on this stuff, can someone recommend me:

- a good value DAC board to integrate to the amp
- Volume control/remote board (again apologies if I am asking stupid questions)
- Case advice

I already noticed the great advice from dannyboon on the wiring side in this post!

so if the buyer chooses analog 2 x 80w, he will be sent MA12070. 2 x 40w buyers will get the MA12040 and i2s option would be MA12070P.
