If i buy the FIFIPO Q7 II with the Femto clocks included. Is there a point to buy the SC-cut clocks?

@secanbj
FemtoMck could be one of the best audio clock made from AT-cut crystals. There is no need for FifoPiQ7II to change to any other AT-cut XOs unless upgrading to the SC-Pure clocks.
SC-Pure clocks are made from SC-cut crystal. SC-Pure clocks are at the higher grade.

I am very very happy with the FifoPiQ7II by the way. For the first time it showed me what my dddac can do. Best 200 bucks I ever spent!👍View attachment 1261314
@Bas Horneman
Your project look very nice. Very well finished and organized. Congratulations!

Ian is there a way to make an older FifoPi give a constant clock output like the new one.? I have some nasty pops and clicks when I get a change of sample rate/clock switches over.
Using a Miro 1862 DAC.
Thanks

Could you expand on that at all Ian please? I see the mute and gnd pads on my FifoPi Ultimate.
You can take the MUTE signal from FifoPi, to use this signal to mute your DAC. The pop sound can be eliminate.
Hi Ian,[...]
Please find the attached FifoPiQ7 II user's manual. The HdmiPiProII user's manual will be posted very soon.
Ian
Thanks for the update on the FifoPiQ7 II. I just discovered that you also updated the manual for the HdmiPiProII on Github. Thanks again. Very nice!

Thank you Ian for the clarification. I did not understand the part where the charging circuit will be connected when the on/off switch is turned off thus not letting the caps to discharge. Now it all makes sense.FifoPi clock side has no problem power 24/7. When turn off, you will still have the continuous output, but the charging circuit will be connected too so the voltage will not drop. SYNC mode work for continouse output.
Continuous mode has the best low ESR performance and and will be even more clean than the switched output.

Hello,
what would be the best settings to play DSD (DOP) files with Rpi4 --> FifoPi Q7 --> ES9038Q2M Dual Mono II DAC? Where should the DOP stream converted. By Fifo or by Es9038Q2M?

RPi doesn't output native DSD over GPIO, You just need to enable the DoP and the FifoPiQ7 will output native DSD.
By default, the hardware DoP to native DSD convertor was enabled in the FifoPiQ7.
It's better to setup the ES9038Q2M Dual Mono DAC at SYNC mode with local 1000MHz XO removed and connect the MCLK cable to FifoPiQ7
Optimized settings
PCM DPLL bandwidth 1
DSD DPLL bandwidth 1
all other settings keep default
You can download the user's manual for more details

Hello, recently purchased PurePi II 5V+3.3V, and FifoPiMa V1.5, +Monitor Pi and to use alongside with my Raspberry pi and ProtoDac HAT. I have a few questions hoping to get cleared up.
My goal is to use this solely as a MOODE streamer, not using any digital input for now.
Question 1:
I'm planning on connecting up. Purepi -> Raspberry Pi -> Fifo -> Protodac is that the recommended stacking order? Am I missing anything?
Question 2: I know the 3v output form purepi connects to the fifo, and the second 5v terminal is optional. Can I use this to power the ProtoDac? I removed the two 5v GPIO Pins (2,4) when soldering the Proto dac (per their instructions), and I'm currently using a second 5v wall wart with it. I'd love to minimize this and wire the DAC into the PurePi, but unsure if it can drive the GPIO + Fifo and protodac.
Question 3:
What spike feet do you recommend for the Pure PI?

Hi
I have the UcPureMkIII ultracapacitor power supply, UcBalancer protection board KIT and two Eaton XL60-3R0308T-R (3.0v) in the mail that is going to power the FifoPi Q7II.
The way I understand it, the UcBalancer should be 2.7v default mode, and the UcPureMkIII in 3.3v mode by shorting s2,s4 and s6 on the back of the PCB with solder balls.
The manual says jumper settings. but can't see any jumpers in any of the pictures I've seen?
is this correct🤔

In this case the UcPure AC input would have to remain on all the time for it to charge when the voltage drops correct?FifoPi clock side has no problem power 24/7. I have a quick question about possible transformer use for the UcPureMkIII sold in the GB2023 (also applies to the new UcPureQuad):
In the manual, the description of AC input on J2 states that the ...
@iancanada, is this also true, if I want two UcPureMkIII (or UcPureQuad) to share one transformer, each UcPure taking one part of the coil? If possible (and not not recommended), what would be the smallest 12V transformer from the Hammond 1182 Series to drive two UcPureQuad in full 8.1A configuration. 1182S12? The 1182M12 and 1182SP12 recommended in the manual seem to be to low-rated to provide 5.3A in non-parallel output configuration.

AC coil has to be independent and cannot be shared with other devices.
