many thanks!
Just curious, which program did you go with, audiotester, spectran, or a russian one 🙂

You mean: Adaption can be made to make a 5000 series plug-in work in a TM500/TM5000 case.
The other way round (TM500 plugins in a 5000 scope base), that will be a though rewiring.
The scope plug-ins and various TM plug-ins have slots cut in the circuit board so you can't inadvertently plug a 5A22n scope plugin into a TM500 -- some of the TM500 plug-ins are designed for the right (high power) compartment, etc. etc.
The case, however, is what I was aiming at -- blank PCB's with the correct fingering are available on the web -- I am going to put my "phase-gain" (bode plotter) meter in one of these. (this one uses a high speed comparator and video amplifier chips to acurately measure phase to 10MHz.)
The TM500 are really wonderful boxes in which to house your test equipment projects.
I am waiting on a microphone, but i really liked the looks of spectran. i think that and speaker workshop will do some good work. Also, i guess RTA will be real nice for testing on the bands that it allows for accuracy. like 500hz, 1000hz, 5000hz etc.
Once i get a mike, ill fill you guys in. maybe even some screen shots!
