Now is available the DSP board, end of January will be available the display and input/output connector boards.
OK, so my plan to propose a forum group buy for custom FPE/Schaeffer panels (a front panel for the controls/display and a back panel for the I/O board) will have to wait until the end of January. 😉

Hypex are primarily a manufacturer of modules for professional & diy assembly
Most people will want their own custom combination of dlcp & amp modules
...i wouldn't expect a boxed version from them

No, we won't make a in-a-box version
Yes, you can use the DLCP as a digital preamplifier, you can control the volume with the PC, or with the optional controller. If you have this controller you can also use an IR remote to control the volume.

Not really.
The Hypex store is there for people who can, at the very least, assemble ready-made boards.
Not to mention that the DLCP in specific (with all its flexibility, range of features/applications etc.) is the last product in the Hypex product line that would make sense to offer as a ready-made product.
If you can't assemble it yourself, look for one of their OEM clients for an end-user product or have a friend assemble the DLCP for you.
You could also have someone do it for a fee, but I wouldn't recommend going down that road if you intend to visit diyaudio often.
There are numerous interesting projects posted and those fees, along with BOM costs, can really add up. 😛

This looks good, and the price is fine by me. 🙂 If the performance is as good as I am dreaming of, it could potentially replace my current DSP platform costing 10 times more.... But I'll wait until we can buy the in/out board and cables. No rush.
The datasheet indicate that the volume is digital yes, and anything else would be nonsense in a thing like this.
