Just to confirm, that with 2.1 firmware, the DLCPs run well in chained mode.
We use a MASTER / FOLLOWER concept with two PowerBoxes pro 4400 i.o. to feed the 8-ch active setup LX521.4
Both DLCPs are connected to a Hypex input board.
Only the MASTER box carries a LCD/Pushbutton/remote control board.
Both DLCPs are interconnected via a single CAT 5 cable (commands and music/AES).
A few tips:
-during setup, Hypex Filter Designer software connected via USB port, select the number of input channels to 4 on both DLCPs, even if you use less channels.
-check for proper switch positions on the input board acc DLCP manual.
-set both input selectors to "Auto Detect". The second DLCP synchronizes to this input selection
-feed your digital signal to the first DLCP in the chain (in our setup: MASTER box) : AES/EBU or SPDIF (or USB)
-the first DLCP (MASTER box) will auto detect the input signal type (eg SPDIF)
-the second DLCP (FOLLOWER box) will auto detect the input signal on the Cat5 interconnect: AES
-forcing the synchronized DLCPs input to one type will (except for AES) make the second DLCP silent, because the second DLCP sees only AES signals , coming in via the Cat 5 cable. You must allow the second DLCP to seek for this AES signal (by choosing AutoDetect)
-optical is not detected by AutoDetect. (to be fixed with next firmware update)
Hope this helps you , when chaining DLCPs in a multichannel setup.
Best
Frank
I am owner of Powerbox 180w. Very great product, I use it with Lxmini speakers, my first High-end system. However, im interested to squeeze all from it. Nothing wrong with it but: There are some input electrolytic caps in 180w ucd boards. I have read that best mod if something has to made to these boards is to remove those.
I asked from Hypex how much DC, DLCP will emit forward and they said about 5-10mV max. I told my plan and after all they didnt make strong cautions or judging. I assume this could be quite safe mod.
I know that warranty will be gone. But, comments?

You might look for these caps or do your own input buffer
The UcD180OEM has separate input pins for this. But it might be a quite frickling experience, if you want to do that.
Best,
Frank

Thanks for comment Frank.
About, own input buffer is frickling?
You mean that putting exotic big "not elco caps" is not so practical due to space and wire length inductance etc. problem?
I just want take those elcos away. Btw. I had some Nad 2100 poweramps while ago which put about 50-100mV dc offset measured from speaker terminals. According to service manual that was in "normal" limits. I drived speakers with ribbons etc. with them and was lucky (if i just would knew that before i wouldnt do that)
Any guesses which two? (if i had to gamble immeadiately forced, i would guess two blue one near red poly?)
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
I thought this was a thread about DLCP/DSP? there are threads on the amps elsewhere.
as well as this is a DIY forum. if you can't figure out which is the input cap, you should pay people who can figure that out.

You are correct, apologies, im at wrong thread.
Yes amateur but at least trying to get info and get somewhere before paying to grinning local tv-repairer 70€ for simple job. But as said this does not belong in here.
The best mod on the planet you can make for UCD amplifier is to put it inside metal box, connect cables to it and start listening to the music.. I have a few of UCD400OEM and I'm not using input buffer.
Come on Hypex, looking forward to the update...
Hi Louis,
Likewise, I would like an update from you...🙂
More on topic, Are you still planning to try multi channel hypex amps in a high efficiency horn system like the one you are building for me?
Regards
Rakesh
Can someone check what exactly OPAMP's are used in analogue output stage of latest revision of DLCP? Are there still the same AKM DAC's which can be seen on the pictures available on the web? What maximum analogue output level in Vrms can be set in DLCP to drive the power amplifiers? Do you thnik it is better to use on-board USB-audio or to convert from USB externally and feed external AES / SPDIF signal to the DLCP? My intention is to use it as digital input xover / DSP for active 3-way stereo.
Thanks!
Thanks!

2.5V max output voltage if I remember correctly. And as for digital input you should use SPDIF, optical or AES/EBU. The usb chip only supports 16 bits where the SPDIF input supports 24 bits as usual. And it doesn't matter which of them you pick, just pick the one that is the most convenient to you.
AKM's are not opamps, just dac's. No changes. Do not use the usb.
I understand difference between the two. It were two separate questions: about OPAMP and about DAC 🙂
Since there are no news about the DLCP at the moment, any news about the following Hypex DSP? Any release date by now?
new package loaded onto the site
Hypex Electronics BV - Product downloads
hopefully Jan Peter will speak up soon

if you are already at ver 2.1 (check the bottom of HFD panel) you just need to run the firmware updater v2.3 (DLCP Firmware V2.3.hex) and not the bootloader update. Don't forget the control panel if you have one (DLCP Control Firmware V1.3.hex)
The instructions pdf is a little misleading for this moment in time.
don't worry, nothing bad happens if you don't do it right the first time 🙂
