Huge wow on diy turntable

Mine did well
Hi, what TT is that?
I managed best 0.03% RMS wow at 45 rpm with my home brew TT, same app and iPhone 11

BTW @Trzalica , that's a beautiful table you have there, lucky you have such a generous friend!

Are the support struts sprung or what?
THANK YOU 🙂 Friend IS definitely generous (but slow, that's why it took more than 10 years for entire project)

Struts are sitting on three steel balls each, I got them from Ali Express (do no lough as I would 😛).

Let me clarify myself B)

Housing is made of AL and shaft is made of AL, with sintered bronze sleeve so it is bronze inside AL.

3-IN-ONE was recommended by few members here, that's why I used it. Also, in the same thread, it was stated NOT to use motor oil because it contains detergent. Other recommendation for oil was a plain Compressor Oil, which I'll try next.
That should be the 20wt electric motor oil, not standard 3-IN-ONE

Are you absolutely sure that the spindle is perfectly centered in the platter? No rocking while the platter is spinning? The bearing may be grabbing. Have you checked that the shaft is completely concentric and straight?

How about platter balance? Is the mass distributed equally from inside to platter edge all the way around?

And I also recommend replacing the shaft with stainless steel with a high state of polish.

The belt is another area of concern if the thickness is not extremely uniform will result in a lot of wow.

Regarding main bearing oil,
After many experimenting Im using special oil for motocross motorbike chain. It has some solvent in it that allows oil to be distributed everywhere needed, solvent evaporates quickly and leaves rather thick oil only. At least for me it works much better than anything else
