Dip hole
I'm not shure what the end product is supposed to look like if split down the middle do you have a pick in mind you could post

Split them in half (jigsaw) along the main (long) axis and flip the other half upside down and in parallel to make it twice as tall. But the acoustic center height depends on your needs at your desk.
No, the pipe would need a baffle. The more I think about the size of this, maybe a dipole isn't such a good idea. Give me a few minutes to sketch up a couple of options.
Speakers
I've got a couple of these at home maybe with some tweeters

I like the open one looks sweet but might use two drivers per side is what you've drawn open baffle ? Dose this type need to be close to a wall to sound good? Thanx for the effort you've put in I'm gonna have to start fabbing need to thing of a top colour for them

Most people seek for colour in the sound -or absence of it- when making speakers. Needless to say most of DIY objects are obscene at first sight!
But...the goal is good sound, the looks come second.
BTW I was looking at the first TB speaker either. It has double power than common speakers ( those that come supplied in cheap Pc speakers ).
Maybe you need a simple fullrange because that one don't make any treble sound.

The one you own.
And...which application ?
I would build a box instead of thinking what to do with those tubes.
For me, a double chamber reflex worked well.
I took inspiration from some cheap ext tv speakers ( german made) which were
prism base and irregular - non parallel panels.
@ Claudio Negro's home page, how to project and test a loudspeaker using Speaker Workshop there's a description of how a DCR works.

just bought a pair of goldfish bowl vases to do the same with! 5GBP each is cheaper than 4 blanda bowls.
