30cm box driver from post 34 got a small whizzer.
Not because of sonic reasons but because it collects too much dust being used in open air only.
After each use its covered with a tissue but protection is not good enough against the dust in a dry desert climate on the long run.
The piezo tweeter horn must be protected, too. Somehow.
Not always is a whizzer necessary. If there is no dust problem:
Below the dustcap of a driver there is lots of radiating surface from the blank voice coil.
The highs are beaming on axis.
With the whizzer dispersion off axis is better.
