Nope, one of the heat sinks I got back from Modu Hifi2000 didn't have a hole tapped, and the other hole, the tap bit must have broken off into.
I sure hope they can send me out a new one - drilled and tapped correctly.

Ooh! That's not very good, is it...
Do they know about that? Are they going to replace it?
If not, don't fear, there is still plenty of material on the heatsink to move the mounting point of the board a little and drill a new set of holes. Tapping is easy. I have never done it before this project, and everything came out fine.

the manufacturer and the supplier should not have sent out a heatsink with a missing hole nor one with a broken tap in the hole.Nope, one of the heat sinks I got back from Modu Hifi2000 didn't have a hole tapped, and the other hole, the tap bit must have broken off into.

This "error" does not say much for the reputation of either of them.
You can use the "power" of the Forum and my post if you think it can beneficially influence their decision to replace the faulty heatsink.
Let's expect they replace at their cost.
Then you can come back and tell how good they are with their customer care and after sales service.
I know it was stupid of them to ship out an error like that. I had 3 panels machined by them, back panel and the two heat sink sides.
I've emailed them, I'll follow up with a phone call.

I haven't figured out the top from the bottom panel.
Does the back panel fit behind the edges of the top and bottom panels?

Shite...doesn't make me want to have them do it for me, better off drilling myself. Cheaper also. I'd Take pictures of the item together with the receipt and the data for how it was supposed to be, and send them an email. They sould supply a new one and cover your freight charges no questions asked. Ideally, that is....
I just did forward an email with this photo to them.
I'm going to call them, but I'll see if they respond to my email first.

looks like they sent you a 'trashed' heatsink
inside holes, and may not matter
DIY heatsink could look like that, or worse, after multiple amp experiments
but it aint right to deliver such as 'new item'
this looks really strange

Yes, that really bugs me. I paid using paypal, maybe I'll see if they is any buyers protection with my purchase.
I think I'm screwed. I called them, they asked me to call back 10 minutes later (I called back, no answer)...
They did see my email and photo, but didn't respond to it.
🙁

I finally got a hold of them, and they're going to credit me $15 euro for the mess up. (which is 1/2 of the holes they drilled out on 1 of the heat sinks).
I'm not going to be purchasing anything from them again.
I've got to purchase a tap, and figure out a way to remove the broken bit in the other hole.
I offered to return the heat sink and get them to correct it, they refused (saying shipping cost, blah, blah, blah.)
I was going to purchase a few more cases, but I'll have to look somewhere else.

i'd send them a link to this post and also give them an idea of how many potential customers read here . that is if you are going to leave it at that . another option is filing a paypal complaint .
I kept wondering for quite a while how they could possibly offer them so cheap.
Now we all know.

I should contact paypal about it. I haven't seen a credit for it yet, highly unlikely I'll see one.
I should threaten them by cancelling the whole order (with paypal's help), and shipping it back to them.
I don't know what else I can do.

Merlin,
Your posted pic pretty well convinced me--I'd never do business with them.
I drilled and tapped my first heatsinks (Conrads) in ages, about a month ago. I used blind-hole drilling, and bottoming taps. I came out with a good quality product. If I can do that, I can't see any excuse for a company to send you a heatsink that looked like yours did....! Ouch.... 😱

their products are first rate , usually ;
I'm not saying that I saw more than dozen various cases , but all of them were "as from factory"

Yes contact Paypal. They basically always protect the buyer. The seller gets screwed everytime even if the seller is right.
