How accurate are anti-skating systems ?

The Stevenson protractor fit is recommended to minimize the tangential error (distortion?) Of the last groove. I use Baerwald at this time, to average across the entire record.
This has already been discussed in another thread, but nothing was clear.
So, the IGD is due to the tangential tracking error of the needle, or to the reduction of SQ due to the smaller travel of the needle when "carving" a certain signal on the motherboard - then vinyl -? .
My opinion is that there is a little of each thing, it is evident that something similar happens to what happens when recording on open tape reels at different speeds, but tangential error also influences ...
What I am convinced of is that there is a lower sound quality between the first and the last groove.
Which doesn't mean that Hèctor Berlioz's Symphony Fantastic sounded fantastic from start to finish!😀
