Hi..
Can someone help me how to simulate EV T18's in Hornresp. Would it b a type of tapped horn ???
Can someone help me how to simulate EV T18's in Hornresp. Would it b a type of tapped horn ???
1 Find drawings for EV T18 showing all internal dimensions
2 Find driver specifications & parameters for EV T18
3 Evaluate design, decide how to create sim in Hornresp
4 Draw speaker cabinet and plot out unfolded horn length.
5 Make best fit of unfolded horn plot simplified to suit limited number of horn segments available in Hornresp.
6 Calculate areas and lengths for each chosen segment to enter into Hornresp.
7 Enter drive parameters into hornresp and any other parameters needed such as throat chamber volume and area.
8 Run Sim 🙂

Thats ok, i have done 1 or 2 simulations like scoop bins to learn hornresp, but i wanna simulate other designs, and wanted to simulate T18, but dont know if it is to be tapped, or just back horn.
As after doing some search, i came to know T18 has a back chamber so is it tapped or back horn, or reflex design.
Thats the reason i was asking for some help on inputs, or any link to if somebody already has simulated T18, so i would understand more properly.
Thanks.

I wonder if that could really be described as a "tapped horn"?
There's a significant rear volume, and the path length of the "horn" looks extremely short.
No matter - it's possible to model it in HornResp.
I have a sim for this cab that I threw together for a friend on my other comp. I'll post it if I remember.
the dayton pa 460 (the older version of the 18) seems like a good cheap option for the cab (similar to the original EV driver i think). the 465 seems like it could be a good option as well for a higher powr soultion.
Its not exactly a tapped horn, more like a tapped BPH similar to the cubo 18 with a bigger mouth.

don't expect much below 50hz.
if you wan't to go th tere are better option's .
plenty here on the forum

the drawings been posted... a crude simulation for the t18 is about 5 minutes of work using the advanced centerline method
Pls... Can somebody simulate EV-T18 in Hornresp for me to understand, or just send me the link if done previously on any other post... PLS.... PLS...
I have the drawings of EV-T18, need to know what data inputs to be done and what driver arrangment to be simulated as offset driver or tapped horn, or compound horn, and as it has a back chamber, do i have to put volume in liters in VRC, and what inputs for VTC, ATC, LRC or AP1, LPt.
Pls help...
Pls help...
this isnt even really close, as its modelled as an "offset driver" (default for th for hornresp) when it reall should be modeled as ND for the front radiating surface with large throat chamber. no driver volum accounted for. driver in sim is dayton pa 460.

Thanks a lot for ur support and help... Pls if possible can u explain how is ap1, Lpt, Atc calculated, Vtc would be the volume of the back chamber, and why is s1,s2 as negative flare lenght..???
no reply..??? I simulated EV-T18 with orig speaker, but i suppose it is not what i expected, how can i capture the sim of hornresp, so that i can post it here.
Hi crissty,
On the Hornresp Input Scree go to: File - Export - Hornresp Record... Hornresp will place the exported file into it's Export folder as a .txt file that you can attach to a post.
