HH vs. GRollins
No contest.
Grey is an honorable gentleman who contributed to this forum with integrity and style. In my view, he was (is?) one of the greatest assets to this forum, and in retrospect, I felt his departure was heavily influenced by the infantile behaviour of Harry. 😡 I was very upset when Grey left, but as Harry seemed to have mended his ways, I cooled off and even came to tolerate his nonsense again as part of the scenery. I'll even admit that I actually enjoyed some of the off-topic debate which took place. But, as the insults and mud-slinging began to build again, I became less and less interested in posting and reading, and at the height of the BS was nearly ready to leave, or at least substantially decrease my involvement. No, I'm not sensitive to rude remarks, nor do I care much if someone insults me. I simply started to feel that it wasn't worth posting here any more... This is exactly the kind of thing we need to be vigilant about in the future. I decided to give one last effort to staying the course maybe and providing some little bit of positive direction for the forum, but fortunately this proved unnecessary with the removal of Harry... and what a relief it is to me.
I've been on this forum almost as long as Grey and Nelson, and I've seen it degrade from a peaceful, totally un-moderated, and highly productive forum to the near wasteland of the past few weeks. The noise level here lately was staggering in comparison to the early days. In retrospect, the principal instigator of this whole decline seems to have been largely Harry. I only wish somebody had spotted Harry's aliases sooner, or applied more strict discipline, but I'm glad he's banned, and will not miss him one bit, humourous posts and occasional tidbits of useful knowledge aside.
So, my hat's off to Dice45 for doing the right thing, taking a stand, and reclaiming the forum for the members who want to contribute to this community in a positive way. I think we all owe a big debt of gratitude to Dice and the other moderators
who work so hard for the benefit of us all.
I'd also like to thank Jason, for hosting this wonderful community, and I'm glad he came around on the quantity vs. quality perspective. I look forward to better days on the forum, and hopefully we'll see the return of some of our departed friends...

After all this Harry thing was directed mostly to me, lately but I have read also rather insulting and rude posts to other people. What does an unknowing person think really as a first impression of diyaudio?

Show Me The Evidence...
Can we have some factual quotes of what HH has said, that some of us here seem to find so mortally offensive ?.
I mean, I have participated in and also re-read through lots of threads containing posts by HH and his aliases, but I fail to find anything that gives me angst.
What I have seen, especially with the confirmation of his aliases, are some blunt answers, some smart-**** answers, but as appropriate is an abundence of simple, clear, concise and factual answers, and none offended me.
Rather some made me laugh to my bones.
To be frank, when Grey was around he did give good information, but he also often gave long and rambling posts and that does offend me, and I also find Bernard tending towards this.
I say offensive in comparison because the erudite posts by HH give the information required in a telegram, and these threads can be followed easily and quickly and facts clear, instead of reading through far too much text for the subjects at hand.
Also please group the offending replies into the respective rules that they transgress.
Eric.
BTW - the forum rules do not say anything about members having multiple personalities.
If moderators are miffed by this creative usage of IT technology, then IMO they should accept it gracefully as a learning experience.
