mate that is absolutely ok..and by the way IF use use Assembler..i take my hat off to you 🙂...just trying to help
I ll have enough QS5.1 to last for most of the DIYers here.
18F or 16F there no problem in implementation.

Hello demons_wing
I use assembler, macro, and basic in deed, those are combined together to build what I was talking about, any way, you are always welcome 🙂
I am learning C recently, but I have a slow learning curve, cause as I alrady said, I don't have that big spare time, so, I will stay with these toys.
bye

nice project!
I was thinking about building a high-end preamp my self, but, I'm thinking of using a more advance audio DSP, maybe Cirrius Logic CS49400 or something like that. Guess it will be more work to build a preamp using this (144 pins on it...).
http://www.cirrus.com/en/products/pro/areas/PA113.html
Other than that it locks like it will be quite similar. Don't know if I will start working on this yet, have to make some calculations on cost vs. time and what else is out there.
But keep up the good work!

Dr VIng:
Using DSP like CS49400 is a nice idea however consider this if soldering SOIC28 chips is difficult consider soldering something like PLCC or QPF144, moreover it would be pretty difficult to make PCBs as well.
Till the time these matters are resolved along procuring procedures of Crystal chips (who have made it extra ordinary complicated) i ll better stick to PGAs.

I see you don't have e-mail on... anyway, I just wanted to know if this circuit can be made to work with a phono input as well... I just can't find one good integrated design...
Wish that I could contribute but I don't have the knowledge. I find this very interesting and commend you for your efforts. Group buy or ??
I will be there.
I will be there.
The problem is not so much haveing an input, but haveing a compensated one with enough gain for a phono cartridge...
As far as I see this either means haveing one dedicated opamp for this or maybe your fancy controlers can switch in an R.I.A.A .network and higher gain system...

hey every body where's the code
u have given every thing except code,i think u all don't want to share it

actually metal, hau and me got busy in our jobs that never found time to complete the code.
Recently started working on the project again hopefully metal and hau will complete the code and as for me i ll do the PCBs ver 1.1.
Here is the updated version of the simple pre and high end pre.
Stick around hopefully we ll do it...😉

regarding code
Thanks Rehan Bhai for ur quick reply, actually i am very poor in programming so i am helpless on this part of the project, other than this i have arranged parts & a pic programmer. If u will share the code then i will build this one if not then i am also trying the 5.1 us patent projects which are built from discrete components but the schematics are very lengthy & complicated, and also iam not sure that it will work as q surround or not, i have heard Q surround in Delhi when a renesas guy was giving demonstration,it really sounds as 5.1 DVD.

Dear Rehan why didn,t u tried M61541fp ,it is a 6 channel vol control chip especially designed for the Q surround chip.
because of so many business commitments didnt complete the QS project myself, but as far as i rememeber "HAU" did complete one for his university project along code, lot of gadgets real time clock, temp sensor, fan controller, VFD. you can always email him if he is willing to share the code or may be send you a preprogrammed PIC.
As for M61541, its a nice chip but again in QFN package , difficult to make a decent PCB and equally difficult to solder, better off with PGAs.

source code needed
Dear all ,
it seems as if all are busy in their work & not geeting time for diy,i am eagerly waiting for the pic codes,so that my circuit gets alive,
pls do share ur efforts on diy ,its always beneficial to share what we have learnt & what are we upto....
Never mind i certainly will do myself if no one on this world helps. so much selfish the world has become...................,this mentality will lead to the end of mankind.
pls open up & don't be so professional

dont develop resentment, please check my other thread on schematics of pre.
It did take me more than three years and loss of many chips and pcbs to the so called "cyber space friends" to learn that no body will do the code for you, then I decided it was high time to start learning C.
Though its been less than two months of trying to learn C, I have developed a working code for the pre, right now I m fixing some of the bugs associated with it. doing a code for rotary encoder was the toughest part, right now its working for CW movement but not CCW I m fixing that plus a few hardware associated issues with LCD interface. Relay section is working perfectly so is the pga section.
No body likes a half cooked meal, so is the case with half done code, I hope you understand the point.
I hope I ll be able to fix them in a few more days two weeks at the most, once I complete the code and find it bug free I ll try to post atleast the hex file of the code here.
So dont worry I ll share my code or atleast the hex file here.

Rotary Encoder
abid_rehan,
Assuming you are using two data lines for the rotary encoder, check the basic code segment from my old post. You should be able to easily convert it to C and get it working. If you are still struggling, post your code segment and perhaps I can help. I am not really experienced with coding in C but, can probably get by for a small code segment.
Best of luck - ALBQ

here are last updated schematics of the project.
ALBQ: thanks for the help fixed the rotary encoder code very minute calculation error was causing the problem , fixed it.
Now what is left is to resolve lcd initialization issues and display thereon.
Then it will be slight code optimization and its done.
