Testing with the 4080 in the circuit and the outputs out of the circuit is less risky.

the 4080 heated up again.

If you don't have a drive signal at the output transistors, you have to go back to pins 5, 6 and 7 of the 4080. What do you have there.

yes. but I ordered two brand new ones from mouser as well just in case.

I don't think there is anything else to check. This has been a long thread but I believe that we've checked everything. The problem is likely something that you'll have to find hands-on.

Did you ever replace the outputs in this amp at any time ?

I’m wondering since the outputs in your pics are IRF3710.

If you replaced the outputs the 3710 causes problems in the 4080 based amps and they should be IRF3710Z (Z prefix improtant ). Only pointing this out .

If they were replaced at some point and you didn’t replace them with the Z version I would replace the HIP4080 again and the outputs to the Z version
