It's quite trivial. Look at the high voltage amp circuit in Horowitz & Hill often used for driving piezoelectric devices. No 1000V PNP devices! It's a totem pole originally seen in TTL logic circuits. The upper devices charges, the lower device pulls both the output and the upper base/gate down using a diode. Though it looks like it couldn't possibly be linear, 0.1% THD is easily possible with good feedback.
