Any one going to post some pictures ?
ps question
Good to hear.
Hey, if I use my power transformers from the original bosoz, will the secondaries be too high to safely use Kari's power supply boards? I'm thinking that the negative supply, instead of -80 is only -12 or so right? (might have the #'s slightly wrong)

Nope, you cannot use the 80v for the 12v sec. You need another trafo for that!Hey, if I use my power transformers from the original bosoz, will the secondaries be too high to safely use Kari's power supply boards? Absolutely wonderful !
How big can those output capacitors be?
If anybody is interested in Mundorf Caps I can get them at a very good price. Just have to get a few people to order.

Well I can get any Mundorf.
The choice would be Mcap or MCap Supreme.
10uF or 22uF
It all depends on what fits on the Boards.
I dont have them yet so I dont know the dimensions.
Does anybody know the maximum pin distance of the caps and maximum width?
Also a good choice for the electrolytics would be Panasonic FC and Panasonic Snap in for the power supplies.
Which MKP caps do you guys prefer?

Hi promitheus,
Do we all need to order the same caps, from the same series?
I'm in.
Greetings,
Harry.

There aren´t so many choices anyway.
I will check which ones fit on the boards and then see how many people are interested.

Kari said:The footprints for the caps are Mundorf MCap 33uF + some odd mm to both axis. This way i get to experiment with different caps.

Max-Pin distance is 59 mm.Does anybody know the maximum pin distance of the caps and maximum width?
Max width is 38mm.

So only the MCap series can be used on the board.
The Mcap Supreme is 106mm long so I guess its out of the question.
The Mcap are the white audiophile caps.
Without being 100% sure the prices should be
4,10-4,60 Euro for 10uF
8,65-9,10 Euro for 22uF and
10,95-12,30 Euro for the 33uF
I could also organise some Mills resistors for the power resistors.
What are you guys using there.

I used 10uF Solen caps, and my output response is less than +/-0.1dB from 20Hz-20kHz. I can't remember the exact numbers, but -3dB point at the bottom end was around 2Hz when driving a 1kohm input impedance. I don't think there is much benefit going to higher rated capacitors.
For the power resistors, I ended up used Kiwame, but I also gave the Mills a serious look too.
Cheers, Terry
In my last preamp I used Metal Oxide Resistors.
In this one I want to use better parts. I want to use Mills Resistors.
I am thinking of matched Mosfets. I already have a lot of them matched. Panasonic FC for the Mainboards and Panasonic snap in for the power supply.
btw can the boards handle snap in caps?
They need I think 2mm holes.
