GB for R-2R Volume Controller with 4 inputs

A question about the use of this controller in my system;

I have three balanced sources switched to the input of a two way crossover. The crossover is balanced input with single ended output to separate high and low attenuators and then to the power amps.

Looking at the schematic of this controller it appears that the inputs go directly to the attenuator on the pcb. I wonder if there is a way to send the input to my crossover and then back to the attenuators.

I am currently using Welborne Labs attenuator/selector for this but is buggy.

Thank You

It is nothing at all.
As you can see at page 4 of this pdf file: http://vicol-audio.ro/img/volume-controller/VA_r-2r_volume-controller_config.pdf there was a tube menu for "warm up tube 60 Sec", but now it is missing from the new fw's.

Yes... I was going through that manual but couldn't figure out if I needed to do something else to enable that - I guess Tibi had removed that function. They did say a number of times that they were running out of space. In any case, I'd gladly lose that feature if it meant that saved volume levels per input is possible. I think that's a much better feature.

I have in mind the following that I have bold & underline, at the 1st Tibi's message.
I will look to the documentation to see if there is any about it...

There are two transistors for open collector functions.
One is power on/off and one is tube plate voltage.
The menu was removed but the function should be there. Anyhow we'll have a look on this.

Tibi

PS. Different volume per input it make perfect sense and will be implemented soon.

Why ???

I thought it would be best to run the full signal through the crossover and apply attenuation just before the power amps.

Spose I could try it that way and see if it makes a difference.

You can achieve this by putting attenuator after crossover.
And, if you do not noticed, beside 4 selectable inputs you have a direct input as well.

I don't understand how that would work. The input needs to be switched before the crossover. Is there a way to take the signal from the switched inputs to an external pcb? And then perhaps back to the direct input of your volume control?

Thanks

OK, got it !
You want to switch inputs before crossover. One crossover with many inputs. :-/

This can be done by cutting the trace just before r-2r network.

I had been confused, because you wrote per channel, Tibi.

Just I tried, very well really very well job guys! My congrats!

A minor bug as I see it: When you are in zoom mode and select another input this goes well but light stills on all the time and there is no any zoom until you pressed any up/down volume or mute key, after that this returned to normal operation.
