Hi. Since this new version of the AYA-II will support I2S interface with U.FL miniature coaxial connector, I'm planning in using an external Asynchronous USB interface, much better than the one built-in on the AYA PCB.
I'm already using the very good Amanero in my HQ-9018 ESS Dac.
I designed a little carrier board with local LDO low noise regulators, I2S isolator (ISO7640FM chip) and U.FL output connectors. See included first version of this PCB. I'm planning in using the AYA-II Raw V+PCM supply and I won't install the AYA USB interface parts.
See the included schematic. I won't debate at large my parts choice that was partially done using parts I had in stock. The circuit architecture is inspired from the HQ-9018 PCB, that I know is working perfectly.
Since the TDA1541 is working on +5V and not +3.3V, I added a small jumper on the PCB to select the Isolator chip voltage 3.3 or 5V. There is separated GND, local decoupling, ferrite LC filters, etc...

Well Done Algar,
That's why we asked to Pedja, CFT and I to add some UFL and simultanous mode, in the same spirit that we did in the Distinction-1541 pcb coreboard thread than RyanJ drawed and edited few months ago at 100 units.
If only i use a computer, Cubietruq or whatever with an usb ! I'm on spidf right now (shame on me).
You could also put your offer on the thread for beginners I opened time ago about input for TDA-1541 if you need a minimum quantity more rapidly to print your board at better price.
What I found a pity on the Amareno apart the missing isolation is they don't sell it to add ourselves better crystals like NDK ones (look ar diyhink e.g.).
So I am for the moment with my simple spidf input board from Sure.
Don't forget the grup buy CFT opened about a grup buy about a SD card : certainly the less jittered input interface !
cheers,
thank you Algar to think to us and share 🙂
PS : you have also some Micrel smt ldo regs with very very low noise. but don't know how they perform in relation to the LT you planed ?!

I'm planning on doing just one PCB for me, home made. But if there is enough interest I could do a small run. Will see.

Pedja has sent out the assembly manual by email.
Also, everything related to the parts, possible tweaks and effective improvements can be asked, discussed or shared at the dedicated page on the Audial site below:

Please feel free to share your progress and nice dac photos here too.
Have fun and enjoy!!

If any french want to share the 18 euros of bill registration and shipment at farnel for Rubycon caps and Rhopoint resistor 5G econistor serie for both i/v resistor and path resitor : PM me. Think it doesn't worth for outside its own country because cost here for international shipping.
As already said : you can source in Europe Allen Bradley at Hificollective website in Great-Britain as well.
Thanks again CFT to asked to Pedja Rogic. Thank you M/ Pedja Rogic for your open mind and sharing attitude.
good soldering to all ! (60/40 soldering !)

Received my board and the EI transformer but had to bring it through customs...
😀
Anyway, very nice quality parts... looking forward to start building!

Please see Pedja's comment on October 6:
AYA II 2014 DIY edition interest check - Audial online topic
Likely a new batch of PCBs to be made.

few populated kits are left with theirs transformers if my understanding is correct : very cheap if you consider than the dac chip is a genuine and from the best product date (AUDIAL own stock) and assembly and set up is maid by Audial (good quality of soldering is also very important for a DAC)...
I permitt myself a little ads as Mr Pedja Rogic was very generous with diyers and this special AYA II 2014 operation !

Hahaha, wee need to absorb Serbia in Europe after Croatia, Slovenia, etc... no more customs taxes after !😀
Oliver, If one day I go to Dusseldorf to visit the center town and its beautifull cathredal I will phone you to stole you the secret of your beautiful DAC cabinets 🙂
Paid today 84,77€ to spanish customs (and I haven't anything yet!)Received my board and the EI transformer but had to bring it through customs...
Hi
May someone measure the vias resistor & caps diameter around the I/V and resistor path signal please. I have no precision intruments to do it.
Motivation is to choose the accurate wattage Allen Bradley because said to have a strong diameter legs than other resistors.
Thanks in advance if someone could help me here.
