Ooh! Ooh! now all I need is some ionization (electrodes at chin dimple & cowlick should be about right), to bathe my entire world in the most beautiful violet glow! (Right up until my face peels off like the guy in the Indiana Jones movie.)...I thread a condom over my head and fill it up with Argon...
Yay! I am already working ferociously on a new spin-off, electro-plasma headphones, left/right earphone consists of a fractal pattern planar antenna tuned at 2,45 GHz attached to the Argon cavity fed from a pair of modified micro oven magnetrons driven by a HV audio amp, stay tuned!
ps. JC can you spare me a pair of byBuzz wires?
Ah this old one. After months of telling us the differences are completely obvious you now want more time to make them more obvious instead of posting what you already have. Chances of any files being posted has just gone out the window.Patience Grasshopper.....I am going to try an experiment to 'screw up' the sound of one of three files in order to make the differences more clear....I will run this experiment in the next couple of days.
I am calling on the good minds here to intelligently help flesh out proper reasons for what I observe and what many others observe also.
There are a lot of very good minds here. Many degrees in engineering and physics and at least one PhD. But you don't want to listen to intelligence and seem unwilling to face the fact that you have no observations, just anecdotes.
I remember Beatles songs and Hendrix on the radio...5yo, too young to grasp the significance at the time.Max, you're too young to realize what a shock it was to those around you when in 1967 the Beatles go in the bin and Cream and Hendrix took their place.
These guys (old friends) are still rockin' it - Matt Taylor & Chain - I Remember When I Was Young Live 1982
.....Well I remember when I was young the Beatles turned me on they really blew my mind
And with Kerry Jack and Pam we'd go and watch a band and have a real good time
Then I heard the Black mans blues they really blew a fuse inside my head
So with some friends we made a stand and formed our first blues band, it was a real good thing.
I keep an open mind about most things.....everybody's gig is everybody's gig, and something can be learned from all.Tolerance for ambiguity is key in achieving something truly new. BTW in 1969 (MIT no less) I had a humanities instructor that assigned Zap Comix as reading material.
Dan.
Dan, Recently, IIRC, you were nearing posting some files, and that seems to have been delayed.
I wouldn't be surprised if you said removing files from your phone changes back to the same. Indeed, if they were the same at some point, there could be something in the way they are stored on a phone that could make them sound different. It would depend in part on the OS and apps used on the particular phone.
However, if two files still sound different on your phone, then recording from the headphone jack to an A/D should capture the difference at least within the accuracy of the A/D.

Max, you're too young to realize what a shock it was to those around you when in 1967 the Beatles go in the bin and Cream and Hendrix took their place. I remember an AM DJ in the late 60's putting on the first Velvet Underground LP and asking the listeners if they actually wanted to hear this ****. I might misremember but IIRC he took it off in mid-song.

Well, to be fair, it was obvious all along (months? I think you mean years). It's pretty clear Max has nothing and never has, else he would have shown it long ago.
At least my playback system is safe from semipermanent change.
Measuring Up, Subjectively
Significance is also subjective, and relative. The first song I remember hearing was She Loves You, by the Beatles, in my parent's room, on the transistor radio (I thought all radios were TransistorRadios, at 3 or 4 years old).
Mom turned it up, Dad jumped out of bed, and turned it to another station, telling her he "can't stand that Yeah Yeah crap".
So the second song I remember hearing was Heartbreak Hotel, by Elvis.
Whatever the third song was, it didn't measure up to those two, I have no idea what it was.
Heard these two back to back on the radio today, and it reminded me of my first snake oil exposure, at home.
Dad had a brass rod run from the carpet to the top shelf, where the record player lived.
Before touching the player, or any component, he would first touch that rod, to drain static from him, so it wouldn't short out the music .

Scott, your postings of 'industrial music' and references to fine points of obscure comics point to misspent youth.
I’d consider what you are doing presently to point to a misspending of adulthood, but it all depends on perspective.
I personally think the interests you criticized have great value. To me, their obscurity is more a commentary on the state of humanity than an issue with their contributions. The fact that Jack Bybee is a name with more recognition here is deeply concerning.
Zap comix for example featured works by artists such as Robert Crumb, who created this cover art you might be familiar with:

He’s been the subject of a documentary film.
And so on.
Scott referenced people who are cherished as visionaries. They made something of their own, threw it out there for all to see and stood behind it and said “this is mine!”
It seems from what I gather you are unable to upload something someone else made to Dropbox to show there is some fragment of a possibility of credence to your repeated claims which have no foundation in any kind of quantifiable discipline (besides sociological and psychological phenomena) which can be repeated by another human being? Or if they do you’re unwilling or unable to determine what that is and so you continue to argue incessantly on the internet?
And you’re dissing R Crumb!?
The shame!
For the record I’m less than half Scott’s age, didn’t attend MIT, don’t have a big fondness for big brother and the holding company, and Mr. Natural & its ilk feel pretty dated to me so it isn’t something I read. So, I can’t swallow the “my age and other diverse interests are responsible for my lack of cultural insight” thing.
How things can be misconstrued, no dissing intended whatsoever.I personally think the interests you criticized have great value. To me, their obscurity is more a commentary on the state of humanity than an issue with their contributions.

My comment is recognition to Scott for having explored and survived the counter culture of the time, and then going on to do great things.

OK, well now you're just being silly. 😀

If that’s the case my apologies.
I’ve admittedly become a bit uppity from all the jabbing around here. Has been more than a bit over the top at times. Throw in some non-native English speakers and it’s just a mess.
I still would be very much interested in seeing some results from your endeavors which could be confirmed by a third party. It would lend a lot more credence to your point of view. Also, it’s very simple to do so.
So, here is a link to a Dropbox folder: Dropbox - Flex Your Headroom
I uploaded two files, both bit perfect, one was copied 50 times hopping over 6 different storage media. Who ever wants to investigate these files, go for it.

The BS-Fu is strong with this post:
Stunning Gryphon Pendragon speaker system bi-amped with Antileon Signature monos and Mephisto stereo Class A power amps, Pandora preamp and Mikado Signature CDP used as transport linked to a Kalliope DAC as digital front end. A Bergmann turntable and Gryphon Legato Legacy phono stage as analog source. With Zensati Seraphim cables all over the place...
Setup made in Heaven !

hi-end = the end
^ Does that Gryphon speaker venue look ceremonial, reminds more of an "audio church" for a cult gathering preparing for "the end", depressing.

Those cable lifters look like little mushrooms, all we need is Aleister Crowley to preside over the ceremony.
Is that Vietnamese karaoke favorite on the top of the record stack a joke?
Let's drop the personal stuff, serves no purpose.

When it comes to hi-fi I belong to the 'heard but not seen' school. Clearly that guy (it must be a man, right?) belongs to the opposite school. I'm sure his friends are impressed; he probably chooses his friends to ensure this.
That Vitenamese vinyl must be for Charles Manson who passed away yesterday...

I know nothing of Vietnamese music, but there is some bonkers Thai music I rather like YouTube . If you detest Grateful Dead I would avoid clicking on it! As far as I can tell they turn up, get drunk and jam till they pass out.
That rig is a little extreme. Is it a very expensive custom listening room or a studio that has been borrowed for the demo?
