Random- going from Bonn Scott to Brian Johnson was like going from a Lambourgini to a Ferrari.
Going from Johnson to Rose is like going from a Ferrari to a Chevy Nova, with a broken Axl.
Wheee!! From out of nowhere comes the Post of the Day! (OK, yesterday.)
* applause *
(someone please shoot that Aussie)
Hee! I love that guy. That said, I would enjoy his YouTubes a lot more if I could find a plugin to autotune him down about 1/2 octave or so. 😛

What a bunch of idiots, they would get their ill-gotten gain a lot quicker with less effort using a gun, and it would be just as ethical.
That's the most teeth-grinding part of it, right there - what they're doing is apparently legal.

Oh god from my country...
This kind of thing would NEVER happen in the medical field! (*cough*theranos*cough*)
Theranos at least embodies what a lot of us are trying to accomplish, I.e. it seems to fail more in the actual implementation than the concept. Alternate medicine, comically making full circle to the title of the thread, is much more in line with the magic flooby dust of audio.
Doesn't make the Theranos story much easier to take.
Still how many of us secretly wish we had the balls to develop a net worth of billions by 32 just by a combination of self belief and pure BS!
Mind you she'll be worth a lot less as of today! But still will hop into CEO roles and be set for life whilst we, the honest ones, just plod on trying to make ends meet.

I'm the same age, far less interesting/mysterious--direct blood tests are tricky beasts. I didn't make billions in the same field, but instead largely squandered several years of potentially good earnings on less than entirely successful research. (What I ostensibly do for "work") Hopefully my defense is fairly benign, as I have no interest in staying in academics. I might be jaded though.
we've all done it. I squandered what should have been the deposit on a house post divorce on trying to set up a company. And when I get my next good idea I'll probably try again, but this time with someone else's money like she did 🙂
Mind you
(makes me wonder, are you worth more as of today, or less ?)
Here is a good one, not audio, but still snake oil, and still funny.

There are also little bluetooth scanners used for the same purpose, to sell "essential oils".
THere seems to be an oil for every malady, but the oils legally cannot "diagnose treat or prevent" those maladies. They offer "support for" instead.

I have to pass this one around since we are working on skin/body impedance for legitimate medical uses. Quack medicine at its worst.
Scott, I suppose it could work as claimed, it sends pulses then analyses the response.

But who the heck figured out what to send and what the responses mean? That's the dubious part.

They didn't, the concept of figuring out what Bach flower oil (or whatever) you need is nonsense and at $399 with a $40 mo. maintenance fee (for what?). This probably works as well as L. Ron Hubbard's E-meter. Stress and sweat change your skin conductivity constantly, the response to digitally coded stimuli is fantasy.

The next turn of "smart watches".

really? how many eyes have revisited this over decades (maybe i'll have dig up my old undergrad biomedical instrumentation text book , never forgot that the part time prof. tried to recruit me)
