Not intended as blowing my own horn, but during my A'dam moonlighting years, I received plenty gay propositions, thank you.
Impressively endowed, or flexible, for a man to blow his own horn.

I screened that at MIT in the day best forgotten, the tools did not know what to make of it.
Impressively
That was indeed the point to catch : Papa ne fume pas sa Pipe, mais son Cigare lui-même.
Hi,
On vous tient entierement responsable de votre propre cercle tellement vicieux, monsieur Vermeulen.
That said, you either understand it all or nothing at all.
A la derive, 😉

Another bit of weapons grade stupidity from an audio journalist. His misquote from a text book to justify his article is particularly amusing

He is a small minded person, who's mind is closed to the realities of engineering and music reproduction unless it follows his and many others Audiophile belief system, he sees himself as the high priest of foolery and bans anyone whose view differ from his... History is scattered with people of this ilk, none of them famous many infamous....

Further, why all the excitement over what are basic USB hubs, the circuitry of which can be found on many sites where they do the relevant IC's as well a basic layout notes etc, done numerous USB hub layouts myself, I have seen no difference between normal hubs and Audiophile Hubs, maybe I am missing something🙂

When I see stuff like this, I always wonder if the writer is stupid or deliberately lying. Certainly the editor who passed this knows better, but integrity in audio "journalism" died many years ago.
I think the problem is that JA gave a few of his key contributors their own websites and full editorial rights there (as in didn't have to follow stereophile rules). Now Tyll is a good guy in my book and tries hard to be balanced. Fremer is completely hatstand but entertaining. And then there is this guy. power has corrupted him and he has a collection of followers plus a couple of high priests of snake oil to support his ideas. Marce was banned from the comments for trying to point out the truth. I do wonder if JA loses sleep over the monsters he has created!

Probably been said before, but here it goes again:
a - My CD player has top spec. S/N 100dB , Distortion %0.00000000001 !, Dynamic range 1000dB etc. so I know it sounds better than any analogue device!
q - but did you listen to it before buying it?
a - Are you stupid? it is written here in black and white, what more proof do you want?
q - but . . . . !
a - but what , you old fool!

With all the good points (like the post above) this thread appears to have become a platform for slandering authors. I would think that if someone really had a problem with authors' misunderstandings they would contact them directly.
Well Marce did, and was banned and his posts deleted. The man does not want to listen to any truth other than from people who support his view. For example only one person in audio apparantly has the right equipment to measure USB jitter. Odd that he sells a jitter buster for usb...

I think it goes a lot deeper than that. And it's been going on for a long, long time.
But at least they show good, albeit incomplete, measurements.
I was talking to Lee Taylor of Leema Acoustics about the measurements given (but measured much less in reviews) for the 50ps jitter values on their Elements dac.Well Marce did, and was banned and his posts deleted. He confirmed that the measuring equipment in use by most manufacturers has a limit of 50ps, that's why they do not claim any better.
In reviews the same equipment has a measured jitter value of 18ps.

Another interesting point :-
We have done tests with different input cables and what have you on the digital side and nothing happened, it always sounded the same, and I think you've heard it yourself—it sounds spectacularly analog.

I do wonder what the revenue is web ads vs print. Maybe that TEN business model is entirely click through based. In which case the more controversy the better!
if all speaker companies started to publish detailed specs.. audio world would collapse, by realizing how distortion-wise, the speakers are broken.Probably been said before, but here it goes again:

((not worth to pay premium for ultra super specs audio chain))

It is not slandering authors, but questioning what they put forward as truths. I have been monitoring some threads regarding the Regen over the last few months, and have realised that there is no way some audiophiles will question their beliefs and even asking to question their perception has resulted in pathetic childish responses to the poster (not me). You cannot have an opinion that is different many "audiophiles" will not allow it and if measurements or Blind testing show there is no difference then the measurements or blind test are flawed, never their perceptions. Such a narrow minded view especially coupled with censorship is not good for forwarding audio reproduction (or for society). The level of vehemence and hostility towards questioners of the faith is also a concern.
Me I now spend more time playing with images within Lightroom whilst listening to my eclectic collection of music and find I am more at peace with the universe... Though I do wonder if the choice of music affects my photo editing... I will have to do some blind editing tests🙂
It does worry me though that the manufacturer of some gear had no measurements to counteract the ones posted...
Anyway we will see a whole host of new add on devices for USB audio (as its a new cash cow) with fancy names... but as Shakespeare said "what is in a name, a USB hub by any other name will still sound as sweet".
🙂
I got banned for commenting on the most ridiculous implementation of a PC I have ever seen (an super duper audiophile music server) we commented here few weeks back.
