Has Stereophile lost it's mind?

WRMAF 2014: John Atkinson Wraps Up His Wreport | Stereophile.com

Read just read what John Atkinson and Mr Serinus have to say about Ted Denney's latest scam product. Either they are delusional or on the take.

Any comments about this? Also read the comments and Atkinson's response. What a flake. He gives Denney free reign to promote his scam products and NEVER tests anything. Shameful.

John Atkinson reports:
The Atmosphere, he said, creates a binaural RF field that swamps external RF pollution, allowing our perception to operate correctly.
The Atmosphere is said to generate very-low-frequency radio wave at the Schumann Resonance Frequency and its harmonics. Schumann resonances occur because the space between the surface of the Earth and the conductive ionosphere acts as a closed waveguide and the fundamental frequency is around 7Hz.
So let me get this right: the earth naturally generates RF interference at very low frequencies and these interfere (somehow) with our enjoyment of music (via hi-fi, but not at a live acoustic concert?); the solution is to generate even more LF RF and "swamp" the incoming natural stuff? Some LF is bad, but more LF is better?

John Atkinson said:
This did nothing to dispel my skepticism: an antenna that could efficiently propagate radio waves with such a low frequency would have to be small country-sized, not a slim tower.
I think he meant 'radiate', not "propagate", but apart from that he is right. This small tower might be able to produce a local magnetic field but its main effects will be on the equipment and speaker, not the listener, as it will be a dipole field and fall off quite quickly with distance. If it does anything then it is probably adding a little 7Hz (etc.) intermodulation to susceptible equipment - this might be confused for 'richness' of sound. Poorly-designed equipment might 'benefit' more from this treatment.

I blame Atkinson and company as much as I do Ted Denney. JA is always saying just about the same thing every year when Ted shows off a new "product". You would think JA would have the balls to test at least one of his items but of course that would mean making an effort.
At least we know Denney is a scam artist and comes out with a new product every year or so but Atkinson knows better yet lets Denney flaunt his crap on the Stereophile website without any testing done at all. Serinus is awful also, always spouting how great Ted's crap is and the gullible eat it all up and want more? Morons.

If you read a bit further, when challenged, JA said:

'I don't believe there was any change in the "soundwaves reaching my ears." What changed, I am convinced, was my perception of those soundwaves.'

When then asked to 'test' the device, he asked: 'What's there to test?'.

Seems a sensible position to take.
